AI-augmented development - using AI tools for code generation, test generation, and code review is a core part of how you work, not an occasional aid.\nWe are looking for someone with deep platform expertise, a customer-centric mindset, a strong sense of ownership, and high-quality standards. You bring genuine curiosity and the adaptability to thrive in a fast-changing environment, approaching problems with a bias for action and staying positive as products and priorities evolve.\nYou will also mentor other engineers and help shape a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign and develop features across NETGEAR's Android applications, with a focus on scalability, performance, and usability\n\nTake ownership of initiatives end to end, coordinating with cloud and embedded counterparts to deliver cohesive product experiences\n\nBuild and maintain test coverage (unit, integration, UI) alongside manual QA testing on features and releases\n\nApply sound engineering judgement to solve complex problems, proposing improved methods and approaches\n\nContribute to architectural discussions and help shape the technical direction of the app\n\nChampion best practices including code reviews, and modern CI/CD and DevOps workflows (e.g. GitHub Actions)\n\nMentor and support other engineers, acting as an informal technical lead and facilitator\n\nActively seek out new tools, ideas, and ways of working - including effective use of AI development tools throughout the SDLC\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n7+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin and Java, including leadership on cross-functional projects\n\nStrong knowledge of Android OS architecture, platform services, and system-level integrations\n\nSolid design and architectural skills, with experience building scalable, testable, reusable applications\n\nProficiency in Material Design and building modern, responsive, user-centric UIs\n\nExperience working across mobile, embedded, and cloud systems to deliver cohesive product experiences\n\nExperience developing clients for APIs and microservices\n\nStrong proficiency with AI-augmented development workflows - tool-agnostic, applied across code generation, test generation, and code review as a core part of the SDLC\n\nWorking experience with DevOps pipelines and tools (e.g. GitHub, GitHub Actions, Fastlane) and secure software delivery\n\nComfortable performing manual QA alongside development work\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex technical environments\n\nStrong communicator, able to articulate technical direction to both technical and non-technical stakeholders\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nFamiliarity with Node.js, JavaScript, Python, and/or cross-platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter), including the ability to build and maintain Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layers\n\nExperience with IoT systems or integrations involving Bluetooth, WiFi, or networking hardware\n\nExperience with subscription-based product models (in-app purchases, billing, and entitlement flows)\n\nExperience across both iOS and Android is a strong plus\n\nCompany Statement/Values:\nAt NETGEAR, we are on a mission to unleash the full potential of connectivity with intelligent solutions that delight and protect.
