About the position:
Netskope is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to support the on technical revenue accounting while also owning key parts of the operational revenue reporting cycle. This role will assist with contract review, revenue recognition analysis, and SOX documentation, and will partner with Revenue Operations on monthly and quarterly revenue reporting. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Excel, resourceful with AI tools to drive process efficiency and innovation, and comfortable moving between technical revenue accounting work and operational reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Technical Revenue Manager with contract review, evaluating revenue recognition treatment for standard and semi-complex arrangements in accordance with the Company's revenue recognition policy and relevant accounting literature.
- Review revenue contracts alongside Sales, Sales Operations, and Deal Desk to flag non-standard terms and support appropriate recognition conclusions.
- Support technical revenue accounting research and help draft supporting accounting memos and documentation under the guidance of the Senior Revenue Manager.
- Maintain and update SOX documentation for revenue-related controls and assist with quarterly and annual SOX testing.
- Support internal and external audit requests related to revenue recognition and SOX controls.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly revenue reporting in partnership with Revenue Operations, including journal entries, revenue reporting, and financial statement support.
- Build and maintain Excel-based analyses, models, and reports to support revenue reporting and ad hoc requests from management.
- Identify and implement opportunities to use AI tools and automation to improve the efficiency and accuracy of revenue accounting and reporting processes.
- Help document and continuously improve revenue accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Provide occasional support on broader operational accounting projects as needed.
- Prepare revenue-related disclosure reports and supporting analysis for the Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) in quarterly and annual SEC filings.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; revenue accounting experience with exposure to contract review and SOX controls preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills required (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas); experience building financial models or reports is a plus.
- Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to improve accounting workflows, analysis, and productivity, with genuine curiosity to explore new ways of working.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and operational teams.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Technology (SAAS) industry experience required. CPA is preferred.
Compensation:
At Netskope, salary is one component of our competitive total rewards package. The salary range for this position is as listed below. This is a national range. For purposes of complying with applicable laws, the range applies to candidates in California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, New York, Washington, and other states.
The successful candidate’s starting pay will also be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and market conditions.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the On Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target commission amount at 100% goal achievement.
In addition to salary, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus plan (for non-sales roles) and a stock award program. Candidates may also be eligible for a comprehensive health plan and other benefits that can be reviewed at Netskope Benefits site.
Salary Range
$82,500—$147,000 USD
