Job & Company Description

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to a wide range of projects in growing automation engineering business serving the mining and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will be involved in PLC programming, control system integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing technical support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with PLC programming, modifications, and system enhancements
  • Support commissioning and startup of automation and control systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot automation equipment and control system faults
  • Assist with HMI and SCADA development and configuration
  • Integrate field instrumentation, sensors, actuators, and VSDs
  • Provide technical support and diagnostics to clients on-site and remotely
  • Maintain project documentation, backups, and software revisions
  • Participate in automation projects from design through to commissioning

Education

  • Formal qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation, or related fields will be beneficial However, candidates with strong practical automation experience and a proven technical track record are encouraged to apply.

Job Experience and Skills Required

  • 2-3 years’ experience in industrial automation, controls, or maintenance environments
  • Exposure to PLC programming and automation fault-finding
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and control system drawings
  • Experience with one or more of the following platforms:
    • Siemens
    • Allen Bradley
    • Omron
    • Mitsubishi
    • Schneider Electric
    • ABB
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites when required
  • Valid driver's license advantageous
