The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engineering projects throughout the complete project lifecycle, from initial concept development and requirements definition through design, prototyping, testing, validation, production and final delivery.This role requires a combination of electronic engineering expertise, project management capability and practical experience with gas detection instrumentation. The ideal candidate will be comfortable coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, managing project schedules and budgets, overseeing technical deliverables, and ensuring that products meet the required performance, quality, safety and regulatory standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage electronic engineering projects from concept and feasibility studies through design, development, verification, validation and product release.\nOversee the complete project lifecycle for gas detection instruments and associated electronic systems.\nCoordinate hardware, firmware, software, mechanical design, testing and manufacturing activities.\nTranslate customer requirements and product specifications into engineering deliverables, project plans and technical milestones.\nManage project scope, budgets, resources, schedules, risks and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.\nLead the development and improvement of electronic gas detection instruments, sensor interfaces, signal processing electronics and embedded control systems.\nCoordinate prototype development, product testing, calibration, verification and validation activities.\nEnsure appropriate integration of gas sensors, electronic circuitry, embedded systems, communication interfaces and alarm functionality.\nMonitor project progress, identify technical and operational risks, and implement corrective actions where required.\nFacilitate project meetings and communicate progress, risks, milestones and technical issues to stakeholders.\nWork closely with suppliers, manufacturing teams, quality assurance and external service providers.\nEnsure compliance with applicable product safety, quality, environmental and industry-specific standards.\nOversee engineering documentation, design reviews, change control, testing records and product release documentation.\nSupport the transition of new or modified products from engineering development into manufacturing and commercial deployment.\nDrive continuous improvement, cost optimisation, product reliability and engineering efficiency.\nMinimum Requirements\nBEng, BSc, BTech or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.\nDemonstrable experience managing electronic engineering or product development projects.\n Practical experience with gas detection instruments, gas monitoring equipment or gas detection systems is essential.\nExperience managing projects across the full engineering and product development lifecycle.\nStrong understanding of electronic hardware development, embedded systems and instrumentation.\nExperience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and external stakeholders.\nProven ability to manage project schedules, budgets, resources, risks and technical deliverables.\nExperience with design reviews, prototype development, testing, verification and product validation.\nStrong technical problem-solving, planning and organisational skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAdvantageous Experience\nExperience with fixed or portable gas detection instruments.\nKnowledge of gas sensors and detection technologies, including electrochemical, catalytic bead, infrared or semiconductor sensors.\nExperience with sensor calibration, alarm thresholds, signal conditioning and measurement accuracy.\nFamiliarity with embedded firmware, microcontrollers, PCB design and electronic instrumentation.\nExposure to hazardous-area equipment requirements and relevant certification processes, such as ATEX or IECEx, where applicable.\nKnowledge of functional safety, product reliability, EMC/EMI testing and environmental qualification.\nExperience with product lifecycle management, engineering change control and manufacturing transfer.\nFamiliarity with project management methodologies and tools such as Microsoft Project, Agile or formal stage-gate
