The successful candidate will work on embedded electronic hardware and control systems supporting battery management, power conversion, monitoring and communication within energy storage applications.This role is suited to an engineer with a strong foundation in electronic hardware design, embedded systems and electrical integration, with an interest in renewable energy, battery technologies and next-generation energy solutions.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop and validate embedded electronic hardware for Battery Energy Storage Systems.\nDevelop and integrate hardware for battery monitoring, control, protection and management systems.\nDesign and test analogue and digital electronic circuits, including sensor interfaces, signal conditioning and power supply circuits.\nSupport the integration of microcontrollers, communication interfaces and embedded control platforms.\nWork with battery management systems (BMS), power electronics, inverters and associated electrical subsystems.\nDevelop and review circuit diagrams, schematics, PCB layouts and hardware specifications.\nConduct hardware testing, troubleshooting, fault-finding and verification to ensure system reliability and performance.\nCollaborate with firmware, software, electrical and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.\nInvestigate hardware failures and implement corrective actions to improve product performance and reliability.\nAssist with prototype development, product qualification and system commissioning where required.\nEnsure designs comply with relevant electrical safety, EMC/EMI and industry standards.\nMaintain technical documentation, test reports and engineering design records.\nMinimum Requirements\nBEng, BSc or BTech in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.\nExperience in embedded hardware design and electronic circuit development.\nUnderstanding of microcontrollers, digital electronics, analogue electronics and hardware interfaces.\nExperience with electronic circuit design, PCB design and hardware testing.\nKnowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, UART, SPI, I²C, RS485 or Ethernet.\nAbility to interpret electronic schematics, technical specifications and hardware documentation.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nGood communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.\nAdvantageous Experience\nExperience working with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), lithium-ion batteries or battery management systems (BMS).\nExposure to power electronics, DC/DC converters, inverters or energy conversion systems.\nKnowledge of battery monitoring, cell voltage and temperature measurement, current sensing and protection circuits.\nFamiliarity with industrial communication protocols such as CANopen, Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP.\nExperience with EMC/EMI testing, electrical safety requirements and environmental qualification.\nExposure to embedded firmware development and hardware-software integration.\nExperience with laboratory test equipment, oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads and automated test systems.\nFamiliarity with renewable energy systems, microgrids or grid-connected energy storage.\nKey
