Company and Job Description:

An established South African organisation is looking for a Financial Controller to join its Finance team in Lynnwood, Pretoria.

This is a hands-on financial control role with responsibility for management accounting, financial controls, payroll-related compliance, tax and statutory requirements.

You will work closely with management and the broader Finance team to ensure accurate reporting, strong financial governance and effective financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review monthly management accounts
Maintain accurate financial records and accounting information
Perform monthly balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
Manage and strengthen financial controls
Prepare and review month-end journals and financial adjustments
Oversee payroll-related financial processes
Ensure accurate payroll accounting and compliance
Manage EMP-related submissions and requirements
Support tax compliance and statutory reporting
Assist with external and internal audit requirements
Monitor compliance with financial policies and procedures
Identify financial control weaknesses and implement improvements
Prepare financial reports and analysis for management
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
Provide financial insight and support to management

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Qualification:

B.Com Accounting, Finance or relevant qualification
Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles

Experience:

2-3 years’ post-article experience
Strong management accounting experience
Financial controls experience essential
Strong statutory and compliance exposure
Experience with payroll and payroll-related accounting
Experience with EMP submissions advantageous
Tax compliance experience essential
Audit experience advantageous
