The ideal candidate will have strong payroll expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of South African payroll legislation and statutory compliance.Key Responsibilities\nSupervise and coordinate the full payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments.\nOversee monthly, weekly, and other payroll cycles across multiple departments, entities, or employee categories.\nReview and verify payroll inputs, including overtime, leave, allowances, deductions, bonuses, and terminations.\nEnsure compliance with SARS requirements, including PAYE, UIF, SDL, EMP201 and EMP501 submissions.\nManage payroll reconciliations, payroll reports, and the preparation of payroll-related journals.\nMaintain accurate payroll records and ensure employee information is kept confidential.\nHandle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently and professionally.\nOversee employee onboarding, terminations, salary adjustments, and other payroll changes.\nEnsure compliance with relevant labour legislation, tax regulations, and company policies.\nLiaise with HR, Finance, auditors, and external service providers regarding payroll matters.\nMinimum Requirements\nRelevant qualification in Payroll Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.\nMinimum of 5 years’ experience in payroll administration, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.\nStrong working knowledge of South African payroll legislation and statutory requirements.\nProven experience with PAYE, UIF, SDL, EMP201, EMP501, and SARS payroll-related submissions.\nExperience working with payroll systems such as Sage VIP, Sage 300 People, or similar platforms.\nStrong Excel skills and the ability to prepare and interpret payroll reports.\nExcellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.\nHigh levels of accuracy, integrity, discretion, and accountability.\nReady to take the next step?
