The successful candidate will be responsible for PLC programming, system integration, commissioning, fault-finding, maintenance and technical support across a range of industrial automation applications.\nKey Responsibilities\nProgram, configure, modify and troubleshoot PLC control systems.\nPerform advanced fault-finding on PLCs, control panels, electrical systems and automated machinery.\nDevelop and modify HMI and SCADA applications.\nAssist with the design, installation and integration of industrial automation systems.\nConduct PLC and automation system commissioning on customer sites.\nPerform FAT, SAT, testing, commissioning and system handover activities.\nDiagnose and resolve communication, instrumentation, control and software-related faults.\nWork with industrial communication networks including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus and similar protocols.\nConfigure and troubleshoot VSDs, drives, sensors, actuators and control equipment.\nInterpret electrical drawings, control schematics, I/O lists, network layouts and system architectures.\nPerform preventative and corrective maintenance on automated equipment.\nSupport system upgrades, modifications, retrofits and optimisation projects.\nMaintain accurate PLC software backups, technical documentation and system records.\nProvide technical support to clients, engineers and junior technicians.\nMentor and provide technical guidance to junior automation technicians.\nParticipate in continuous improvement and root-cause analysis initiatives.\nEnsure all work complies with applicable SHEQ, electrical and site safety requirements.\nMinimum Requirements\nNational Diploma, N6/S4, Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification in:Electrical Engineering\nElectronics\nMechatronics\nInstrumentation\nIndustrial Automation\nor a related field.\n\n5+ years' experience in industrial automation, PLCs or automation maintenance.\nStrong hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.\nExperience with one or more major PLC platforms such as:Siemens S7 / TIA Portal\nAllen-Bradley / Rockwell\nBeckhoff\nSchneider\nMitsubishi\nOmron\n\nExperience with HMI and/or SCADA systems.\nStrong electrical fault-finding and control-system diagnostic ability.\nExperience with commissioning and start-up of automated systems.\nAbility to read and interpret electrical/control drawings.\nStrong understanding of industrial automation, sensors, instrumentation and control systems.\nValid driver's licence.\nAdvantageous Experience\nRobotics programming and integration.\nVSDs and servo systems.\nIndustrial Ethernet and fieldbus networks.\nPneumatic and hydraulic control systems.\nExperience in manufacturing, mining, processing, FMCG or heavy industry.\nExperience with FAT/SAT and client-site commissioning.\nExperience leading or mentoring junior technicians.\nExposure to electrical panel
