The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting new business, renewals, endorsements, quotations, and related administrative functions.\nKey Responsibilities:\nUnderwrite personal lines insurance policies, including new business, renewals, endorsements, and policy amendments. \nPrepare and review quotations for prospective and existing clients.\nEnsure all underwriting activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, procedures, and underwriting guidelines. \nSupport the sales team in acquiring and retaining profitable business. \nProcess policy documentation accurately and ensure all records are maintained electronically. \nNegotiate renewal terms and prepare renewal documentation. \nConduct renewal reviews and retention calculations within agreed timelines. \nArrange and monitor surveys and survey requirements where applicable.\nAddress policy queries, amendments, and additional cover requests from clients. \nEnsure policies are appropriately rated and not overexposed to risk.\nResolve customer queries and complaints effectively to ensure excellent service delivery.\nContribute to process improvements and support continuous operational excellence. \nMinimum Requirements:\nMatric. \nNQF Level 5 Qualification in Short-Term Insurance. \nRegulatory Examination (RE) Certification. \nPersonal Lines Class of Business certification. \nDOFA confirmation from the FSB.\nMinimum 4 years' Personal Lines underwriting experience. \nStrong understanding of personal insurance products and underwriting principles. \nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications. \nExperience with Cardinal 360 (C360) will be advantageous. \nSkills & Competencies:\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. \nExcellent written and verbal communication abilities. \nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. \nProactive, professional, and customer-focused approach. \nStrong organisational and prioritisation skills. \nAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced and pressurised environment. \nStrong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. \nHigh ethical standards and integrity.\nWhy Apply?\nJoin a growing and collaborative environment where your underwriting expertise will make a meaningful impact.
