The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining and controlling engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that all technical documents, drawings, specifications and project records are accurately registered, distributed, updated and archived.\nThe role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills and experience working with engineering documentation within project-driven environments.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nAn exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Engineering Document Controller to join a dynamic engineering environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining and controlling engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that all technical documents, drawings, specifications and project records are accurately registered, distributed, updated and archived.\nThe role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills and experience working with engineering documentation within project-driven environments.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManage and maintain the engineering document control system and project documentation registers.\n\nReceive, register, review, distribute and track incoming and outgoing engineering documentation.\n\nControl the issuing, revision, approval and distribution of technical drawings and engineering documents.\n\nEnsure the correct document versions are available to engineering teams, clients, contractors and other stakeholders.\n\nMaintain drawing registers, transmittals, technical document registers and revision histories.\n\nCoordinate document submissions, reviews, approvals and comments between multidisciplinary engineering teams.\n\nMonitor document workflows and follow up on outstanding reviews and approvals.\n\nEnsure compliance with project document control procedures, client requirements and company standards.\n\nManage electronic and hard-copy filing systems to ensure documents are easily accessible.\n\nMaintain document traceability and ensure superseded documents are appropriately archived.\n\nAssist with the preparation of project handover documentation and final engineering dossiers.\n\nLiaise with project managers, engineers, consultants, suppliers and contractors regarding documentation requirements.\n\nGenerate document control reports and provide regular updates on document status and outstanding deliverables.\n\nSupport audits and ensure documentation is maintained in accordance with quality management requirements.\n\nMinimum Requirements\n\nGrade 12 / Matric.\n\nRelevant qualification or certificate in Document Control, Administration or Project Management will be advantageous.\n\n3–5 years' experience in engineering document control or a similar project environment.\n\nPrevious exposure to engineering drawings, technical specifications and project documentation.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.\n\nExperience with electronic document management systems (EDMS).\n\nUnderstanding of document numbering, revision control and document distribution procedures.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAdvantageous Experience\n\nExperience within EPC, EPCM, engineering consulting, construction, mining, petrochemical or industrial project environments.\n\nExposure to multidisciplinary engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural and Process Engineering.\n\nExperience with systems such as Aconex, SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud, ProjectWise or similar document management platforms.\n\nKnowledge of ISO 9001 quality management requirements.\n\nExperience compiling engineering project
