Our projects involve electrical and mechanical test systems, custom jigs and fixtures, electronics packaging and tooling at the interface between the implant and the surgical robot.\nJob Description and Responsibilities:\nAs our Prototype & Design Specialist, you will be instrumental in creating and maintaining an environment that enables our engineering and manufacturing teams to innovate and deliver groundbreaking medical devices. You will go beyond managing equipment and facilities; you will be a key enabler of technical and operational success, ensuring that the R&D lab spaces are designed for efficiency and collaboration. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s growth by facilitating innovation, streamlining operations, and optimizing resource utilization. Additionally, you will be expected to:\nEngineering Lab Design and Operations:\nDesign and build lab spaces to meet the evolving needs of the engineering and manufacturing teams\nContinuously improve lab capabilities and operations by implementing new technologies and optimizing space for faster and more efficient workflows\nOwn and maintain inventory of all lab equipment, including tools, chemicals, and consumables\nImplement systems for lab organization and cleanliness, and train users accordingly\nEnsure spaces comply with safety regulations and industry standards\nPrototyping and Fabrication:\nProvide hands-on technical support to engineers and technicians by building prototypes, setting up stations and running tests \nUtilize various fabrication methods, including additive and subtractive manufacturing, to produce high-quality prototype parts.\nOperate and maintain a range of machines and power/hand tools necessary for prototyping\nManage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines and production schedules\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nMeticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills\nEye for aesthetic design and organization\nFamiliarity with R&D lab equipment, tools and workflows\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams \nThrives in a fast-paced environment where flexibility and innovation are essential\nHands-on experience with prototyping, model making, fabrication, testing, and lab operations\nExperience planning and building out labs and R&D workspaces\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nPrevious experience in a prototyping environment\nPart design experience\nExperience programming and operating laser cutters, 3D printers, and CNC machines\nKnowledge of regulatory standards relevant to medical device development\nExperience with inventory management systems and quality control processes\nExpected Compensation:\nThe anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the following range. Your actual base pay will be determined by your job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We also believe in aligning our employees’ success with the company's long-term growth.
