In this role, you’ll design and build the high-performance systems and services that power Nevis’ AI-first wealth management platform.\nYou’ll be responsible for creating the robust backend infrastructure behind our intelligent workflows - developing APIs, microservices, and data pipelines that handle billions in assets. Working alongside engineers from top fintech companies like Revolut, you’ll operate at the frontier of technology and finance, building scalable systems with a focus on reliability, performance, and elegant design.\nYou’ll thrive here if you love working on greenfield systems, moving fast, and taking ownership end-to-end - from architecture to deployment.\nWhat You’ll Do\nBuild and maintain scalable APIs and microservices that underpin Nevis’ platform.\n\nDesign and evolve distributed systems supporting core features like automation, integrations, and client operations.\n\nDevelop clean, maintainable, and efficient code using Java 17/21 with an emphasis on TDD, DDD, and CI/CD.\n\nOwn greenfield development while also improving and refactoring existing systems.\n\nEnsure system reliability and performance through monitoring and observability.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including AI engineers, product managers, and designers to ship impactful features.\n\nParticipate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning.\n\nWho You Are\n6+ years’ experience in backend engineering, building high-performance, distributed systems.\n\nStrong fluency in Java, with deep understanding of backend design patterns and principles.\n\nHands-on experience with microservice architecture, APIs, and database systems (PostgreSQL, Redis).\n\nSolid foundation in computer science, mathematics, or related fields.\n\nComfortable working in cloud environments (AWS).\n\nFast learner with a results-driven, problem-solving mindset.\n\nExcellent communication and team collaboration skills.\n\nFluent in English and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.\n\nNice to Have\nPrior experience in financial
