As our team evolves, we recognize the need to add skillsets that support this shift.\nThe IT Analyst (Data) role plays a key part in supporting New Era’s data and analytics capabilities by turning raw data into trusted, actionable insight. Based at Headquarters, the Data Analyst works primarily within New Era’s Snowflake-based data platform, building and maintaining dashboards and reports in Power BI - with Tableau in the mix - that give business and IT stakeholders the visibility they need to make informed decisions. The role partners closely with the Data & Analytics and Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure data is accurate, well-modeled, and consistently defined across the organization.\nThe Information Technology team at New Era Cap enables the organization’s operations by delivering reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions. They manage enterprise systems, infrastructure, and digital tools to support day-to-day business activities and enhance productivity across teams. The team partners cross-functionally to implement technology initiatives, provide technical support, and drive continuous improvement in system performance, data security, and user experience.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, build, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations in Power BI, with Tableau support where needed, to answer business questions and track KPIs\nWrite and optimize SQL queries against Snowflake to extract, transform, and validate data for reporting and analysis\nPartner with business stakeholders across functions to gather requirements and translate business questions into data models and visualizations\nBuild and maintain semantic layers, data models, and calculated measures (DAX) that support self-service analytics and consistent metric definitions\nMonitor data quality, integrity, and pipeline health across Snowflake data sources, flagging and helping resolve discrepancies\nSupport and document data pipelines feeding Snowflake, partnering with the data engineering team on ingestion tools such as Fivetran where applicable\nMaintain data dictionaries, report documentation, and metric definitions so reporting stays consistent and auditable across teams\nCollaborate with the Enterprise Architecture and data platform teams on Snowflake performance tuning, warehouse usage, and cost optimization\nProvide ad hoc data analysis and reporting to support leadership decision-making\nSupport migration and consolidation of legacy reports into Power BI and Snowflake\nStay current on Power BI, Tableau, and Snowflake platform capabilities, including AI-assisted analytics features, and recommend improvements to reporting practices\nKeep all sensitive matters confidential\nOther duties as assigned\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nDeep, hands-on expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and report/dashboard design\nWorking knowledge of Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse), including SQL query writing and performance considerations\nFamiliarity with Tableau for data visualization and reporting\nSolid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling and star/snowflake schema design\nComfortable working directly with business stakeholders - gathering requirements, explaining data findings, and building trusted relationships\nSkilled at translating ambiguous business questions into clear, structured data analysis\nEffective communicator who can distill complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences\nAnalytical and detail-oriented, with strong data validation and troubleshooting instincts\nAble to manage multiple reporting requests and priorities in a fast-paced, global environment\nFamiliarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data integration tools such as Fivetran is a plus\nProficient across Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered\n4+ years of hands-on experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI, including DAX and data modeling, is required\n2-3 years of hands-on experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse platform is required\nExperience with Tableau is strongly preferred\nStrong SQL skills, with demonstrated experience querying and manipulating large datasets\nExperience with data pipeline/ELT tools such as Fivetran or dbt is a plus, but not required\nMicrosoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, SnowPro Core, or a similar certification is a plus\nExperience in the consumer products, retail, or apparel industry preferred\nTravel Requirement\nThe location for this position is 100% on-site in Buffalo, NY\n5% to 10%; domestic and/or global\n ,\nThe salary range for this posted position is $85,000 - $105,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York.
