The Field Technician provides support for New Era Technology project teams by completing work in the field at customer sites and acting as installers and supervisors to sub-contractors. The role is responsible for assuring all facets of field operations are executed safely and in the prescribed amount of time in accordance with the scope of work. The Field Technician can work on multiple projects for a variety of clients and serves as the face of New Era Technology in the field.\nEssential Functions:\nBuild and maintain trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders.\nBuild alliances and partnerships with subcontractors.\nImprove customer satisfaction/NPS scores.\nEnsure that all assigned work is completed safely and to industry specifications.\nCompletion of client and company checklists, photos, and test results typically communicated to management electronically within 24 hours of completion.\nKeep the Project Managers apprised of job progress and/or problems on a regular basis.\nProvide after-hours or emergency service on an as needed basis.\nComplete surveys & quality audits as needed.\nAdhere to existing company policies, standards and controls, including utilizing App-based tools.\nThe majority of work is performed at customer locations.\nInstallation of cabling infrastructure includes but not limited to:Single/Multi mode fiber 50/62.5\nCopper Category 3, 5e, 6, shielded in both horizontal and backbone applications.\n18/2 twisted pair cabling.\nFloor mount/wall mount racks/cabinets\nProper grounding applications\n\nInstallation, troubleshooting, and servicing of the following areas: POS, CCTV, video monitoring, security systems, computer, and low voltage cabling equipment.\nInstallation of a variety of equipment in furniture, cabinets and closets.\nInstallation of high-speed circuits, routers, switches, and modems.\nInstallation of Cisco and Adtran high speed circuits, routers, and switches.\nProperly maintain a Company issued fleet vehicle.\nRequired Experience/Education:\nExperience working with subcontractors.\nIn-depth experience with cabling infrastructure installation, termination and testing to include but not limited to:Single/Multi mode fiber 50/62.5\nCopper Category 3, 5e, 6, shielded in both horizontal and backbone applications.\n18/2 twisted pair.\nFloor mount/wall mount racks/cabinets\nProper grounding applications\n\nExperience installing, programming and servicing a variety of telephone, PBX and key systems.\nExperience installing, troubleshooting and servicing 2 or more of the following areas: POS, CCTV, video monitoring, security systems, computer and low voltage cabling equipment.\nKnowledge of high-speed circuits, routers, switches and modems\nKnowledge of Cisco and Adtran high speed circuits, routers and switches\nSome combination of the following experience:Ability to login to network equipment via a GUI or command line using PuTTY or similar terminal emulator.\nKnowledge of IP subnetting\nKnowledge of wireless networking, specifically Ekahau, AirMagnet or similar tools\nSome experience with desktop/laptop support\n\nValid driver’s license\nRelated/Relevant Certifications (Not Mandatory):\n Licensed Electrician Journeyman level\n Relevant Certifications - Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus, Avaya, CommScope, etc.\n OSHA Construction Safety and Health (10 or 30 hour) certification\n BICSI Installer 1/2 or Technician\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nDemonstrated ability to properly use basic hand tools, power tools, and testing tools for the installation and testing of voice and network equipment to include but not limited to:Firewalls, routers, switches\nWireless LAN controllers\nOn-premises voice/key systems\nPhysical security controllers and door strikes\nVideo security cameras, DVRs, and NVRs\nVoIP handsets\n\nKnowledge and experience with the utilization of time tracking software\nIntermediate MS Office computer skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook\nAbility to give and receive clear direction from multiple sources.\nAbility to effectively communicate, present information, and respond to managers, employees, customers, and vendors in an intelligent, clear, concise, professional and grammatically correct manner.\nAbility to establish and retain customer confidence.\nWorking Conditions and Physical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nWork on remote job sites in various stages of construction.\nRequired to use hands and arms to finger, type, handle, feel or reach, pull and squeeze.\nSitting and driving may be required for up to 100% of the workday.\nFrequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform work overhead.\nRequired to use a 6, 8, 10 and 12ft ladder and Scissor/Boom lifts.\nVision requirements include the ability to adjust focus and view a computer screen, also to focus on components in their original casings to detect problems and troubleshoot issues.\nThe employee is required to hear, and talk in a clear, audible voice.\nTravel by car and plane 100% of the time\nRequired to carry the required tools and materials from vehicle to work and to lift up to 80 lbs.\nMay be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and outside weather conditions.\nAll Personal Protective Equipment is supplied by the Company where required.\nEXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Monday -
