Further information is available at www.nfigroup.com.\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nWe are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. This role is responsible for supporting all manufacturing engineering activities within assigned manufacturing cell(s), including facilitating lean manufacturing initiatives, implementing Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs), maintaining cell layouts, creating Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), and supporting capital and facility upgrades. The successful candidate will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help ensure production efficiency, quality, and safety standards are achieved. The ideal candidate will bring experience leading or supervising manufacturing teams, driving operational improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced production environment.\nWHAT YOU WILL DO:\nProvide manufacturing engineering support and services within assigned manufacturing cell(s).\nWork as a collaborative member of the cell team to meet operational metrics and implement remedial actions as needed.\nMaintain current updates on manufacturing engineering-related tasks in the manufacturing cell log.\nRepresent manufacturing engineering at daily cell meetings and weekly plant metrics meetings.\nDesign or specify equipment, tooling, or racking required to support manufacturing.\nReview and implement ECNs within assigned cells or option groups.\nAssign default locators to all parts within assigned manufacturing cells.\nCreate SWIs and hot sheets and train personnel on these standards.\nUpdate and maintain plant and cell layouts, including inventory, housekeeping, emergency, and security maps.\nSpecify and facilitate capital and equipment upgrades, installations, or modifications.\nImplement and facilitate lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, value stream mapping, setup reduction, etc.).\nPromote a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.\nParticipate in SWAT team meetings to resolve cross-functional issues.\nConduct process observations to validate time standards and resource planning.\nValidate routings and submit routing change requests to process planning.\nConduct contract reviews to ensure production readiness.\nParticipate in Non-Conforming Parts (NCP) meetings and assist with disposition of materials.\nInitiate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) as appropriate.\nSupport process planning and production engineering activities.\nParticipate in internal and supplier audits, including Supplier Application Approvals as required.\nRequirements\nWHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:\nBachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nLean certification or equivalent applicable work experience.\nExperience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. \nProven ability to influence cross-functional teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support operational performance objectives.\nEffective team player with strong problem-solving skills.\nProficiency in AutoCAD or UniGraphics and Microsoft Office Suite.\nAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.\nUp to 10% travel may be required.\nBenefits\nBENEFITS:\nComprehensive benefits package with immediate eligibility\nPaid holidays and vacation\nOn-the-job training in a continuous learning environment\nCareer advancement opportunities within NFI’s family of companies\nEmployee social committee events throughout the year, including barbecues, holiday festivities, sports tournaments, and more\nInclusive workplace culture that values and empowers all team members\nThis position offers an annual compensation range of $70,000 to $80,000\nNew Flyer is an equal opportunity employer.
