Further information is available at www.newflyer.com.\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nAs a Production Welder, you will perform MIG and TIG welding in a CWB-regulated environment to build structural and body components for heavy-duty transit buses. You will work from blueprints and weld symbols to produce consistent, high-quality welds that meet safety, durability, and production standards.\nWHY JOIN US:\nBe a part of a team leading the world’s electrification of mass mobility\nCompetitive Wages and comprehensive benefit package with Immediate benefit eligibility\nPaid holidays and vacation\n401K with generous company match / or Registered pension plan with generous company match)\nPassionate about creating a better product, a better workplace, and a better world\nInclusive workplace culture that values and empowers team members.\nOn-the-job training in a continuous learning environment (we invested $15.9 million in 2024)\nAdvancement opportunities within our family of companies\nWe are proudly named one of Manitoba’s Top 25 employers.\nWhat You Will Do\nPerform MIG welding on structural frames, brackets, and bus body components to CWB standards\nPerform TIG welding on thinner materials and specialty components (where required)\nFit, clamp, square, grind, and prep parts prior to welding to ensure proper alignment and tolerances\nRead and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and build documentation to determine weld locations and sequence\nComplete multi-pass welds, overhead welds, vertical welds, and confined-space welds depending on the build area\nVisually inspect welds for porosity, undercut, cracks, and proper bead profile, performing rework when required\nUse tools such as grinders, clamps, measuring tapes, levels, squares, and jigs\nFollow standard work, CWB procedures, and build sequences to maintain consistency and repeatability\nWork with fabricators, weld team members, and area leads to hit daily TAKT times and production targets\nMaintain welding equipment (liners, tips, gas flow, wire speed, etc.) and troubleshoot basic weld defects\nFollow all safety requirements, use proper PPE, and maintain a clean, organized workstation\nWhat You Need\nCWB certification is an asset; must have the ability and willingness to obtain CWB certification\nProficient MIG welding skills (TIG experience or willingness to learn is an asset)\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols\nStrong attention to detail and consistent weld quality\nPhysically able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods\nReliable, safety-focused, and able to meet production timelines\nFlexibility to work shifts and overtime as required\nOUR WHY: We exist to move people.
