At New Relic, we build an intelligent platform that empowers companies to thrive in an AI-first world by giving them unparalleled insight into their complex systems. As we continue to expand our global footprint, we're looking for passionate people to join our mission. If you're ready to help the world's best companies optimize their digital applications, we invite you to explore a career with us!\nYour opportunity:\n\nAt New Relic, we provide our customers real-time insights so they can innovate faster. Our software delivers observability tools across heterogeneous technologies and distributed systems, enabling engineering teams to identify, understand, and tackle issues, analyze performance, and get the most out of their software and infrastructure.\nYou will be part of the Infra+ Platform & Synthetics team, which owns critical backend platforms including Scheduler, Serverless, and Synthetics. Operating at massive scale, our modern stack leverages Java, Node.js, Go, Kubernetes, Kafka, and GraphQL, paired with React on the frontend. As a Backend-Focused Full Stack Engineer, your primary mission will be architecting resilient, high-throughput microservices and data pipelines, while building clean, intuitive web interfaces when full-stack delivery is required.\nThis high-impact engineering position offers the opportunity to own distributed backend systems processing massive telemetry streams alongside companion management interfaces. We are looking for a motivated engineer ready to tackle complex scalability challenges. We look forward to talking with you!\nWhat you'll do:\nArchitect, implement, test, and scale resilient microservices and distributed backend systems using Java, Node.js, or Go.\nDesign robust data models, efficient schemas, and high-performance APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) capable of handling high-concurrency workloads.\nImplement asynchronous messaging, distributed caching, and stream-processing patterns (e.g., Kafka) to process high-volume telemetry and synthetic execution data.\nOwn the full lifecycle of your services-from writing clean, tested code to setting up CI/CD pipelines, containerizing applications, and deploying to Kubernetes-managed cloud infrastructure.\nCreate automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and telemetry instrumentation to ensure services are fault-tolerant, observable, and performant.\nWork directly within a multidisciplinary team in an agile environment with an operational ownership mindset (you build it, you run it, you monitor it).\nThis role requires:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).\n3-4 years of professional software engineering experience, demonstrating strong backend engineering depth, practical frontend competency, and foundational DevOps capabilities.\nBackend Expertise: Strong hands-on experience designing, building, and operating production microservices and APIs using modern languages such as Java, Node.js, or Go.\n Data & Storage: Solid understanding of database design, query optimization, and trade-offs across relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL/document datastores.\nFrontend Competence: Practical ability to build, modify, and consume APIs within modern web applications using React, TypeScript, and HTML5/CSS3.\n DevOps & Cloud: Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar), and foundational cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, or Azure).\n Core Fundamentals: Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, concurrency, object-oriented/functional design) and a disciplined approach to automated testing.\nCollaboration: Excellent technical communication skills, with the ability to participate in architectural reviews and partner effectively across cross-functional engineering teams.\nBonus points if you have\nHands-on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).\nExperience with event-driven architectures, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), or stream-processing engines.\nExperience with distributed caching strategies (Redis, Memcached) and low-latency API optimization.\nFamiliarity with distributed tracing, metrics collection, alerting platforms, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.\nExperience writing end-to-end integration and performance tests for backend and frontend services.\nLeave the appropriate visa sponsorship statement below and remove the other statement:\n\nPlease note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.\nQualified applicants may inquire about visa sponsorship (including transfer of a current H-1B visa), but the company does not support or sponsor O-1, F-1, or J-1 visas, or candidates who require commencement of an H-1B \"cap case\" petition for future work authorization. This position is to be filled as soon as possible.\n\n[Please insert your recruiter tag and the work arrangement tag for this job below (e.g., #LI-EW1 #LI-Hybrid). Their experiences and perspectives inspire us to make our products and company the best they can be. We’re looking for people who feel connected to our mission and values, not just candidates who check off all the boxes. \nIf you require a reasonable accommodation to complete any part of the application or recruiting process, please reach out to .\nWe believe in empowering all Relics to achieve professional and business success through a flexible workforce model. This model allows us to work in a variety of workplaces that best support our success, including fully office-based, fully remote, or hybrid.\nOur hiring process\nIn compliance with applicable law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work and to complete employment eligibility verification. Note: Our stewardship of the data of thousands of customers means that a criminal background check is required to join New Relic.\nWe will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records based on individual circumstances and in accordance with applicable law including, but not limited to, the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.\nHeadhunters and recruitment agencies may not submit resumes/CVs through this website or directly to managers. New Relic does not accept unsolicited headhunter and agency resumes, and will not pay fees to any third-party agency or company that does not have a signed agreement with New Relic.\nNew Relic develops and distributes encryption software and technology that complies with U.S. export controls and licensing requirements. Certain New Relic roles require candidates to pass an export compliance assessment as a condition of employment in any global location. If relevant, we will provide more information later in the application process.\nCandidates are evaluated based on qualifications, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, age, disability, neurodiversity, veteran or marital status, political viewpoint, or other legally protected characteristics. \nReview our Applicant Privacy Notice at https://newrelic.com/termsandconditions/applicant-privacy-policy","description_format":"text","description_chars":7781,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Flexible schedule"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"India","iso":"IN","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Observability & APM"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-11-05T05:48:37Z"},{"event":"close","at":"2026-11-05T10:58:18Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":null,"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/new-relic-software-engineer-1-2","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/new-relic-software-engineer-1-2.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-11-06T04:57:26Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":8580,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-07T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":1708},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=1708"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fnew-relic-software-engineer-1-2"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fnew-relic-software-engineer-1-2"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fnew-relic-software-engineer-1-2"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/new-relic-software-engineer-1-2\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fnew-relic-software-engineer-1-2"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":3789461}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"newrelic.com","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":3789461},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
