NewDayarelooking fora Lead ML Engineer to set the standards, patterns, and technical foundations thatdefine howmachinelearningmodels are deliveredandoperatedin production.\nWhy this role matters\nAs the technical lead within ourMLOpsfunction, you will shape how ML is engineered in practice.This rolewillfocusonestablishingthe standards, patterns, and technical approaches that enable models to move reliably from experimentation into robust production.\nYou will shape how ML systems are engineered in practice through clear lifecycle standards, reusable approaches, and strong technical foundations.\nHowyou'llcontribute\nEstablish standard, reusable patterns for model serving, pipelines, and deployment.\n\nDefine standards for model packaging, versioning, CI/CD,monitoringand observability.\n\nSet clear production readiness criteria for models entering engineering workflows.\n\nProvide technical direction for ML solutions delivered within the team.\n\nEvolve platform capabilities that reduce bespoke approaches over time.\n\nReduce engineering effort required toproductionisemodels byestablishingreusable approaches and platform capabilities.\n\nWe’relooking for these essential skills\nExperience building and operating ML systems in production, including model serving, monitoring, and lifecycle management.\n\nStrong understanding of serving patterns across batch and real-time environments, and how models move from training to production.\n\nExperience defining engineering approaches that enable Data Science teams to deliver reliable, production-ready models.\n\nAbility to turn ambiguity into clear, adoptable technical standards and reusable patterns.\n\nExperience setting technical direction and influencing engineering practices across teams.\n\nHands-on experience with cloud ML platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Step Functions)\n\nStrong communicationskills and the ability to collaborate across Data Science, Engineering, andData Platforms.\n\nHow you work\nYou are comfortable operating at the boundary between experimentation and production-grade ML delivery.\n\nYou value structure, consistency, andhigh standardsin engineering practices.\n\nYou think in terms of reusable frameworks rather than one-off solutions.\n\nYou are motivated by improving reliability and long-term maintainability of ML systems.\n\nYou bring clarity, direction, and technical leadership to complex problem spaces.\n\nAt NewDay, we value all types of diversity.
