The role requires safe handling of medical equipment, accurate record keeping, and punctual delivery to support clinical services.\nWhat you'll be doing\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDrive between designated locations in Brigg and Grimsby according to an agreed schedule.\nCollect, transport, and deliver boxes containing cataract surgery handpieces and related equipment.\nEnsure all items are handled carefully to prevent damage during transit.\nLoad and unload equipment safely in accordance with manual handling procedures.\nMaintain accurate collection and delivery records, including signatures where required.\nReport any missing, damaged, or delayed items immediately.\nConduct daily vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is clean, roadworthy, and compliant with legal requirements.\nFollow all health and safety, infection prevention, and data confidentiality procedures.\nCommunicate effectively with clinical, administrative, and logistics staff.\nAssist with other transport-related duties as required.\nEssential Requirements\nFull UK driving licence with no significant driving convictions.\nGood knowledge of local routes within North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.\nExcellent time management and reliability.\nAbility to lift and carry boxes safely and comfortably.\nGood written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work independently and responsibly.\nBasic record-keeping and administrative skills.\nDesirable Requirements\nPrevious experience as a courier, delivery driver, healthcare driver, or logistics assistant.\nExperience handling medical equipment or healthcare-related deliveries.\nManual handling training.\nBasic understanding of confidentiality requirements within healthcare settings.\nPersonal Qualities\nTrustworthy and dependable.\nProfessional and courteous.\nOrganised and detail-oriented.\nFlexible approach to work.\nStrong commitment to patient care support, confidentiality, and safety.\nWorking Conditions\nRegular travel between Brigg and Grimsby.\nFrequent loading and unloading of equipment boxes.\nOccasional variation in collection and delivery times to meet service needs.\nUse of approved personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement if applicable).\nProof of business insurance\nWhy join Newmedica?\nAt Newmedica, you'll become part of a growing organisation that is transforming access to high-quality eye care across the UK.
