Working at Tanami means tackling unique challenges, developing valuable skills and being part of a team committed to responsible mining, continuous improvement and shaping the future of the operation.\n Your Impact\nReporting to the Engineering Superintendent, you will play a key role in driving asset reliability, equipment performance and maintenance optimisation across Newmont Tanami's fixed plant operations.\nAs a Mechanical Reliability Engineer - Fixed Plant, you will develop and implement reliability strategies, predictive maintenance programs and asset improvement initiatives to maximise equipment availability, reduce unplanned downtime and optimise whole-of-life maintenance costs.\nWorking closely with maintenance, processing and engineering teams, you will provide specialist technical expertise, lead equipment failure investigations and drive continuous improvement initiatives that support safe, reliable and efficient plant operations.\nAs Part of Our Team, You Will\nDevelop and implement Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) strategies and predictive maintenance programs to optimise fixed plant reliability and equipment availability.\nAnalyse equipment performance, maintenance history and condition monitoring data to identify improvement opportunities and reduce unplanned downtime.\nLead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and implement sustainable solutions to improve equipment performance and extend asset life.\nOversee condition monitoring activities, including vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography and non-destructive testing.\nProvide specialist technical advice, coaching and mentoring to maintenance teams, supporting reliability improvements and best maintenance practices.\nCollaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering teams and specialist contractors to optimise asset lifecycle costs and drive continuous improvement.\nPrerequisites for Success in This Role\nTertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or extensive relevant maintenance experience.\nStrong experience in fixed plant reliability, maintenance engineering or asset management within mining, mineral processing or heavy industry.\nDemonstrated expertise in Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.\nExperience interpreting condition monitoring data and implementing equipment reliability and performance improvements.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex equipment issues.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative approach and strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.\nYour Work Environment\nPermanent Position offered on a FIFO 8 days on site | 6 days off site roster\nWork across Newmont Tanami's fixed plant and processing operations.\nReside in our fully equipped accommodation village.\nApproved point-of-hire locations: Darwin, Alice Springs, Perth and Brisbane\nCollaborate with maintenance, processing and engineering teams to drive equipment reliability and operational performance.\nWhat's on Offer\nIndustry-competitive remuneration package\nAnnual performance incentives\nFIFO allowance\nHealth & Wellbeing Allowance\nAccess to employee benefits, career development and progression opportunities with a global organisation\nWe invite women and applicants with diverse backgrounds to apply, particularly First Nations persons of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island descent.
