Joining Ahafo South offers the opportunity to build a rewarding long-term career at the forefront of Ghana’s mining industry while contributing to an operation that creates lasting value for host communities and showcases Newmont’s commitment to responsible mining on a global stage.\nYour Impact:\nAssist in developing and maintaining engineering project control systems and processes, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and management of project performance to support project success and decision-making.\nAs Part Of Our Team You Will:\nSupport in preparing and maintaining engineer project schedules, ensuring all tasks, milestones, and deliverables are accurately tracked and updated.\nAssess project costs and expenditures, ensuring they align with approved budgets and identifying any variances.\nAssist the preparation and assessment of cost reports, forecasts, and financial summaries for project teams and partners.\nExecute regular cost variance assessments to identify discrepancies between planned and actual project costs, suggesting corrective actions as needed.\nLiaise with project leaders and teams to collect accurate and timely cost and schedule data for reporting purposes.\nSupport in the preparation and execution of project control procedures and methodologies to enhance cost and schedule handling.\nApply project management software and tools to assist project tracking and reporting activities.\nExecute risk assessments to identify potential cost and schedule overruns and implement mitigation strategies.\nDeliver technical support and troubleshooting for project control systems and tools.\nResponsible for assessing relevant risks, applying mitigation measures, and continuously evaluating for risks.\nYour Training, Skills & Experience Checklist:\nFormal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):\nB.S. degree in Engineering or Accounting or Project Management or equivalent. \nExperience:\nMinimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in underground development, infrastructure, mine services or contractor-delivered projects.\nAdditional Knowledge\nProject management training.\nAn understanding of construction techniques, methods, productivity, and costs.\nTechnical Skills:\nProficient in engineering and construction management principles.\nProblem Solving Ability\nCompletes concrete procedural tasks.\nFollows procedural steps to complete work.\nUses practical judgment to overcome problems, or requests assistance.\nSees alternatives based on trial & error.\nImproves working methods using day-to-day experiences, procedures, observations of pattern of events, and trial and error.\nSelf-awareness:\nUnderstands own behaviours and is aware of the impact on others.\nAdapts their own behaviour where necessary in order to get a productive outcome for the wider team.\nTeam process:\nAble to be an effective team member by listening, clarifying tasks, receiving and providing feedback.\nAble to be an effective team leader (where applicable) by establishing and maintaining a positive and productive work environment through listening, dealing with different points of view, giving and receiving feedback.\nCollaboration:\nBuilds positive working relationships with a diverse range of people across disciplines.\nYour Work Environment:\nThe location for this position is at our Ahafo South mine site.\nAt Newmont, our people are our strength and we’re committed to a safe, inclusive and supportive workplace.
