Complete these 4 quick steps: \n Register as a Candidate or sign in if you already have an account. \n Complete Your Profile Add your professional and contact details. \n Upload or Update Your CV Keep your latest CV ready for applications. \n Upgrade Your CV for Free Use our premium CV templates at no cost. \n You will work closely with mining, engineering, operations and project teams to assess ground conditions, manage geotechnical risks and ensure that excavation and ground-support designs meet required safety and performance standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide geotechnical engineering support for underground mining activities and project development at Ahafo South.\n\nConduct regular geotechnical inspections of underground workings, excavations, ground-support installations and other relevant areas.\n\nAssess ground conditions and identify potential geotechnical hazards and areas of instability.\n\nDevelop and recommend appropriate ground-control and ground-support measures.\n\nReview and optimise ground-support systems to improve safety, stability and operational efficiency.\n\nSupport the design and implementation of excavation and ground-support strategies.\n\nMonitor ground behaviour and evaluate the effectiveness of existing ground-control measures.\n\nInvestigate geotechnical incidents, ground failures and other stability-related events and recommend corrective actions.\n\nProvide technical input into mine designs, development plans, infrastructure projects and other engineering initiatives.\n\nReview geotechnical data, geological information, monitoring results and field observations to support engineering decisions.\n\nCoordinate geotechnical investigations, testing, monitoring and technical studies.\n\nSupport the development and implementation of geotechnical management plans, standards and procedures.\n\nProvide technical guidance to engineers, supervisors and operational teams on ground-control requirements.\n\nWork collaboratively with mining, geology, engineering, maintenance and other technical teams.\n\nPromote compliance with applicable geotechnical standards, mine safety requirements and company procedures.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve geotechnical practices, ground-control performance and operational efficiency.\n\nMaintain accurate technical records, reports, inspections and geotechnical documentation.\n\nPrepare and communicate clear technical reports, recommendations and presentations to relevant stakeholders.\n\nSupport project planning, scheduling, cost control and technical assurance for geotechnical activities.\n\nApply risk-management principles to identify, assess and control geotechnical hazards.\n\nPromote safe, sustainable and responsible mining practices across all assigned activities.\n\nQualifications and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering or another closely related engineering discipline.\n\nSignificant professional experience in underground geotechnical engineering, preferably within a large-scale mining environment.\n\nStrong practical experience in underground ground-control and ground-support systems.\n\nDemonstrated experience conducting geotechnical inspections and assessments.\n\nExperience supporting underground mine development, engineering projects or major mining infrastructure projects.\n\nStrong understanding of rock mechanics, ground behaviour and geotechnical risk management.\n\nExperience interpreting geological and geotechnical data to support engineering decisions.\n\nKnowledge of ground-support design, excavation stability and geotechnical monitoring techniques.\n\nAbility to identify geotechnical risks and develop practical, technically sound solutions.\n\nStrong understanding of mine safety requirements and geotechnical risk controls.\n\nExperience working effectively with multidisciplinary mining and engineering teams.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and technical-reporting skills.\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.\n\nStrong proficiency in relevant engineering and geotechnical software will be an advantage.\n\nCommitment to high standards of safety, environmental responsibility and professional integrity.\n\nWhat We Are Looking For\nWe welcome a technically capable, safety-focused and solutions-oriented geotechnical professional who can operate confidently in an underground mining environment.\nYou should combine strong engineering knowledge with practical field experience and the ability to make sound technical decisions in challenging conditions.
