Strong support from host communities and the government of Suriname strengthen Merian's ability to deliver safe, profitable production with significant upside potential and opportunity for employees, host communities and shareholders.\n Dimensions\nPurpose\nTo support the evaluation and validation of environmental analytical methods in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.\nEssential Duties\nSupport determination of analytical method performance characteristics including Limit of Detection (LOD), Limit of Quantification (LOQ), accuracy, precision, recovery, linearity, and measurement uncertainty.\nAssist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing laboratory data.\nMaintain accurate laboratory records and validation documentation.\nSupport preparation of technical reports and summary presentations.\nAdhere to all laboratory safety protocols, environmental requirements, and Newmont standards.\nParticipate in safety meetings, inspections, and risk assessments as required.\nSupport environmental monitoring initiatives through reliable analytical testing practices.\nTraining & Experience\nKnowledge:\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related discipline at Anton De Kom Universiteit van Suriname\nFoundational knowledge of chemistry, environmental science, analytical science, or a related discipline.\nUnderstanding of laboratory quality management principles and analytical testing concepts.\nAwareness of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and laboratory accreditation principles.\nBasic understanding of statistical analysis and data interpretation.\nTechnical skills:\nKnowledge of analytical laboratory techniques and instrumentation.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, trending, and reporting.\nBasic statistical analysis skills.\nTechnical report writing and documentation skills.\nFamiliarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is advantageous.\nOperational:\nAbility to follow standard operating procedures and laboratory work instructions.\nAccurate data recording and document control practices.\nSample handling and preparation knowledge.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nWorking Conditions\nWork Location: Merian Sipaliwini\nWork schedule: 14x7x10\nOur business success comes from the accomplishments and well-being of our employees and contractors.
