Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.\nWe acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, traditional custodians of the land surrounding Cadia, and proudly run an Indigenous Buddy Program to enrich the workplace experience our Indigenous employees. Do you have a knack for automation and a desire to contribute to the advancement of technology within the mining industry? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Mine Technology Technician at Cadia.\nIn this role, you will support the deployment, optimisation, and maintenance of advanced mining technology systems across our underground and surface operations. Your work will directly improve safety, productivity, and efficiency by reducing manual interaction, enhancing data and control systems, and contributing to the mine of the future.\nYou will work closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to monitor system performance, diagnose issues, implement improvements, and ensure technology reliability across site.\nKey responsibilities include:\nSupport delivery of technology solutions designed to remove personnel from hazards and reduce exposure through automation and innovative engineering controls.\nMaintain the interconnected components, networks, and systems used to convert, record, transport, or control mining processes, equipment, and information.\nPerform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance across underground and surface technology systems.\nPromote and contribute to a strong safety culture within the Mine Technology Team.\nEngage proactively with stakeholders to ensure technology systems meet operational needs.\nAssist with continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance, reliability, and compliance across the mining technology fleet.\nYou will also have training, knowledge and experience in:\nEssential\nElectrical or Auto-Electrical or Communications trade qualification\nExperience with mining technology, fixed and on-board infrastructure.\nStrong understanding of safety management practices and working within mining environments\nExperience working with industrial communications, IP networks & Wi-Fi infrastructure\nStakeholder engagement and ability to work cross-functionally\nDesirable\nUnderground and surface automation systems\nDMR Radio Communications (Tait, Omnitonics )\nWLAN/LAN networking and fault-finding, including Fibre Optics\nFunctional Safety exposure\nExperience with mine technology applications (e.g., proximity detection, fleet systems, telemetry networks)\nPlease note: This is a permanent full-time residential role (no FIFO/DIDO) at our Cadia mine site, on a 7D/7X/7N/7X roster.\nAt Newmont, our commitment to diversity and inclusion ensures that everyone can work to their full potential, free from discrimination, while respecting the cultures, religions, and governance of the regions in which we operate.
