You will drive equipment availability, minimize downtime, and ensure work is executed to plan-directly supporting production performance and a strong safety culture across site.\nAs part of our team you will\nLead effective pre-shift safety meetings, clearly communicating operational priorities, workplace hazards, critical controls, and safety expectations.\nDemonstrate visible felt leadership through regular field engagement, coaching, and verification of safe work practices.\nEnsure maintenance activities are executed in compliance with site safety standards, regulatory requirements, approved procedures, and critical risk management processes.\nLead hazard identification, incident investigations, and corrective action management using CHESS, ensuring actions are completed and verified for effectiveness.\nConduct Critical Control Verifications (CCVs) using the Forwood Safety App, ensuring critical risks are effectively managed and controls are in place prior to and during work execution.\nPromote a proactive safety culture where employees are empowered to identify hazards, raise concerns, and stop work when conditions are unsafe.\nPrerequisites for your success in this role\n3-5 years of supervisory experience in open-pit mining maintenance; underground mining experience is an asset.\n\nValid Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal certification and BC Mine Supervisor Certificate.\n\nStrong experience maintaining and supervising repairs on large-scale mining equipment, including haul trucks, excavators, shovels, drills, dozers, graders, loaders, and support equipment.\n\nProven leadership of multidisciplinary maintenance teams, including coaching, mentoring, performance management, and contractor oversight.\n\nExperience leading major repairs, component replacements, maintenance planning and scheduling, equipment reliability, and resource coordination to support safe, reliable operations.\n\nAbility to prioritize repairs and balance safety, equipment reliability, availability, and maintenance costs.\n\nAbility to make sound operational decisions and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced mining environment.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration skills with Operations, Planning, Reliability, OEMs, and leadership.\n\nStrong safety leadership and knowledge of mine safety regulations, hazard management, risk management, critical controls, and regulatory compliance.\n\nWorking knowledge of SAP or similar CMMS systems.\n\nKnowledge of MineMAGE and Cat MineStar systems.\n\nExperience using Forwood and CHESS safety systems.\n\nYour work environment\nSite-based role at a remote fly-in, fly-out mining operation\nRotational schedule (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off) with hands-on field leadership expectations\nFast-paced, operational environment requiring real-time decision-making\nCollaborative, safety-first culture focused on accountability, performance, and continuous improvement\nSupported camp environment with full site amenities and strong team culture\nWhy Work at Red Chris Mine?\nCompetitive Compensation\nCompetitive wages and salary packages\nPerformance-based rewards, where applicable\nShort-Term and Long-Term Incentive programs, where applicable\nOpportunities for additional premiums and allowances depending on the role\nHealth & Wellness\nComprehensive health and dental benefits\nRetirement and savings programs\nEmployee and family support resources\nWellness initiatives and programs\nLodge & Site Amenities\nComfortable lodge accommodations\nMeals and food services provided at lodge\nRecreational and common areas\nAccess to site amenities designed to support your wellbeing while at lodge\nTravel & Time Off\nSite travel arrangements for eligible employees\nRotational schedules that provide extended time away from site\nPaid vacation and statutory holidays, based on employment terms\nLearning & Career Development\nTraining and development opportunities\nSupport for building skills and advancing your career\nOpportunities to work alongside experienced mining professionals\nExposure to a modern mining operation and the development of the Red Chris Block Cave project\nJOIN A TEAM THAT INVEST IN YOUR FUTURE\nThe expected salary range for this role is CAD $114,000.00 - $152,000.00 year.
