We do this by empowering our employees, encouraging innovative solutions and recognizing great performance.\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nThe Principal Cloud Data Engineer is a hands-on role and will liaise with product org and PO/PM to design, build and maintain reliable, scalable data products/data pipelines and core data platform components that power analytics, ML, and applications. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality data across the organization.\nDESCRIPTION:\nEssential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities\nDesign, build, and maintain high-throughput data pipelines and ingestion workflows. \nImplement transformation logic, data quality checks, and governance frameworks. \nCollaborate with platform architecture and product teams to support the foundational data platform roadmap. \nOptimize data flows for performance, cost, and reliability. \nMonitor platform health and troubleshoot ingestion or processing issues. \nBuild reusable components that scale across markets and business units. \nAbility to effectively and accurately convey information to others.\nPerforms related duties as assigned by management.\nQualifications and Education Requirements:\n7+ years of data engineering/ development experience. \nStrong hands-on skills with Python, SQL, Spark, or cloud-native data processing tools. \nExperience with data lakes, lakehouses, or cloud-based warehouses. \nKnowledge of data quality, metadata, lineage, and governance frameworks. \nStrong problem-solving and debugging skills. \nSkills, Abilities, and Knowledge:\nStrong verbal communication skills; strong writing and composition abilities.\nStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective and professional relationships across the organization and with customers.\nStrong influencing and negotiation skills; consultative and collaborative work style. \nHigh learning agility with the ability to learn and integrate business variables and learn new systems and platforms.\nStrong analytical skills & problem-solving abilities; solid decision-making abilities coupled with sound judgment.\nEffective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.\nStrong project management and time management capability.\nSelf-directed and comfortable working with ambiguity and uncertainty.\nHigh degree of professional maturity, integrity, ability to maintain confidential data and information.\nHigh degree of business acumen; strong technical aptitude. \nWork Environment and Physical Requirements:\nWorking on-site at assigned office location.\nRegular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.\nFlexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand.\nWorking in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations.\nSedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.\nConstant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.\nConstantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.\nAdditional Information:\nWhile this description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the position’s requirements, it in no way implies/states that these are the only job responsibilities.
