You will lead and mentor a team of data architects and analytics engineers while staying hands-on with solution design, prototyping, and execution to accelerate data-powered product growth.\nDay to day you will:\nProvide technical guidance across the team, overseeing the design and implementation of scalable, performant, and cost-effective data solutions.\n\nLead a team of data architects and analytics engineers, setting clear objectives and establishing consistent, collaborative ways of working.\n\nDevelop and prototype data solutions hands-on, maintaining direct involvement in coding and technical execution to ensure high-quality delivery.\n\nMaintain data architecture principles, standards, data modelling techniques, and quality benchmarks across all projects.\n\nCollaborate with key stakeholders across business intelligence, advertising, and newsroom teams to translate business requirements into robust technical architectures.\n\nDesign tailored data solutions, data marts, APIs, and activation data flows that integrate seamlessly with CDPs, DMPs, and BI tools like Tableau and Looker.\n\nPartner with Data Engineering, Data Governance, and Data Platforms teams to ensure efficient, secure solution implementation aligned with enterprise standards.\n\nWhat we're looking for from you:\nDemonstrable technical leadership skills, with a track record of developing talent, managing multidisciplinary technical teams, and fostering accountability.\n\nProven technical background in end-to-end data solution delivery using BigQuery and GCP products, backed by advanced SQL proficiency, stored procedures, and data modelling expertise.\n\nStrategic problem-solving abilities to translate complex business needs into scalable, maintainable data structures and streamlined workflows.\n\nStrong stakeholder engagement skills, demonstrated by your ability to build trusted relationships across business intelligence, advertising, and newsroom units.\n\nClear and effective communication skills, enabling you to produce high-quality requirements and documentation that eliminate cross-timezone friction between onshore and offshore delivery teams.\n\nNews UK is one of the leading media businesses in the UK and Ireland.
