As a Data Engineer at Newsec, you will play an active role in building and managing our enterprise-wide data platform, powered by Microsoft Fabric and the Azure ecosystem. This role is ideal for a junior to mid-level engineer looking to grow alongside an experienced team while working with cutting-edge Lakehouse technology.\nWorking closely with Data Architects, BI Developers, and business stakeholders, you will build reliable, scalable data flows supporting analytics, self-service BI, and data-driven services across the Nordics and Baltics.\nYour Key Responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and deploy data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and data models in Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse).\n\nPerform SQL-based development, continuous optimization, quality assurance, and monitoring of data pipelines.\n\nEnable self-service BI and analytical workloads through clean, well-structured data foundation layers.\n\nCollaborate on shared engineering practices: documentation, code reviews, version control, and platform security.\n\nDepending on your experience, you will own clearly defined deliverables or larger components of the platform, with structured mentorship from senior colleagues.\nYour Skills and Experience\nTo succeed in this role, you have a relevant academic background (e.g., Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems) or equivalent practical experience. You possess a solid foundation in data engineering concepts and are eager to work with modern SaaS data platforms.\nWe are looking for:\nCore Engineering Foundation: Good proficiency in SQL and a strong understanding of relational database principles, data modeling (e.g., dimensional modeling), and data integration (ETL/ELT).\n\nModern Platform Familiarity: Hands-on experience or genuine project exposure to Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse) or modern cloud data stacks (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI, Databricks).\n\nDevelopment Practices: Understanding version control (Git), automated workflows/CI-CD basics, and core data quality principles.\n\nProgramming Exposure: Familiarity with Python or PySpark for data transformation and scripting is a plus.\n\nCommunication: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required;
