That's the mission.\nIn this role you'll own significant pieces of the platform that keep NewtonX running: the CI/CD pipelines that ship code, the GKE clusters that run it, the observability stack that watches it, and the security controls that protect it. You won't be maintaining someone else's setup - you'll be improving it, questioning it, and replacing the parts that no longer fit.\nThe technical challenge: a GCP-native stack spanning GKE, Cloud Run, Dataflow, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Cloudflare, serving five engineering teams with different deployment patterns and reliability requirements. If you love building platform infrastructure that quietly makes everyone else's job easier and occasionally loudly fixing things before they break, this is where you'll do meaningful work.\nWhat You'll Build\nYou'll own platform work end-to-end, from design through deployment and operation.\nImprove infrastructure reliability: Own GKE workloads, Cloud Run services, and the shared platform layer. Identify single points of failure and eliminate them before they become incidents.\n\nEvolve CI/CD pipelines: Maintain and harden shared GitHub Actions workflows used by all engineering teams. Supply-chain security, EOL runtime upgrades, reusable composites.\n\nBuild and operationalize observability: Metrics, logs, alerting, and on-call workflows using Datadog and Prometheus. Design dashboards that surface problems, not noise.\n\nDrive infrastructure-as-code standards: Write, review, and refactor Terraform across all environments. Set the bar for what good IaC looks like at NewtonX.\n\nImprove event-driven autoscaling: Advance KEDA with application-aware custom metrics per workload - moving beyond CPU thresholds to metrics that actually reflect load.\n\nHarden security posture: IAM least-privilege, Workload Identity Federation, SOC2 evidence, Cloudflare Zero Trust, and CI/CD supply-chain controls.\n\nRoll out data anonymization: Implement and scale data anonymization tooling across dev and staging environments to support safe PR deployments and data replication workflows.\n\nCollaborate across teams: Architecture reviews and direct partnership with engineering teams on infrastructure decisions.\n\nOur Tech\n- GCP, Terraform, Kong, GitHub Actions,Kubernetes,Datadog,Prometheus, Cloudflare Stack, ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, Python, and etc\nWhat We're Looking For:\nRequired\nExperience: Minimum 5 years in relevant technology roles (DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE). At least 1 year in a Senior DevOps position, or 2+ years as a mid-level engineer with demonstrated ownership of production systems.\n\nGCP and Kubernetes: Strong hands-on experience with GCP and production Kubernetes environments. You've operated these at scale, not just deployed to them.\n\nTerraform: Solid infrastructure-as-code knowledge, writing, reviewing, and refactoring independently. Not just running terraform apply.\n\nStrong observability knowledge: Metrics, tracing, logging, and alerting in production. Experience designing on-call workflows and incident runbooks.\n\nStrong security knowledge: IAM least-privilege, identity federation, secret management, network controls. Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC2 a plus).\n\nCI/CD and automation: Building and maintaining pipelines and reusable deployment workflows. Scripting proficiency for tooling and automation.\n\nNice to Have\nDemonstrated architectural decision-making that significantly improved company security, scalability, and performance.\n\nGitOps: ArgoCD or Flux\n\nAuth0 or similar IdP: SAML, M2M, JWT\n\nDatabase management( e.g. PostgreSQL)\n\nExperience with Ingress Controllers or API Gateways (e.g., Kong, NGINX, Istio)\n\nWhat actually matters\nWe care less about credentials and more about demonstrated ability.
