The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience managing Azure Databricks environments, implementing infrastructure best practices, and troubleshooting complex cloud platform issues. This role requires a highly autonomous engineer who can independently manage cloud infrastructure, respond to critical incidents, and collaborate closely with Data Engineering teams to ensure a secure, scalable, and reliable data platform.\nLocation: Mexico\nThis position is open exclusively to candidates who are currently residing in Mexico. Candidates who are not currently based in Mexico will not be contacted for this opportunity.\nRequirements:\n3+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.\nStrong hands-on experience administering Azure Databricks, including workspace provisioning, cluster management, runtime configuration, and platform lifecycle management.\nExperience defining and implementing Databricks architecture, administration, security, and cost-optimization best practices.\nStrong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Azure Bicep.\nExperience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.\nStrong understanding of Azure networking and security, including VNet Injection, Private Endpoints, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and secure Databricks deployment models.\nExperience with cloud infrastructure automation and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.\nKnowledge of access management and governance using Unity Catalog and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).\nProven ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and distributed computing issues.\nResponsibilities:\nOwn the administration, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Azure Databricks environments, including workspaces, clusters, and runtimes.\nEstablish and enforce best practices for Databricks administration, platform architecture, security, reliability, and cost optimization.\nServe as the primary infrastructure partner for Data Engineering teams, ensuring platform availability and operational stability.\nMonitor cloud infrastructure proactively, identifying and resolving performance, availability, and configuration issues.\nRespond promptly to high-severity incidents, emergency support tickets, and Databricks cluster failures, minimizing disruption to data operations.\nDesign, implement, and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform, Bicep, and CI/CD pipelines.\nConfigure and maintain secure Azure network architectures, including VNet Injection, Private Endpoints, and NSGs.\nImplement and manage platform security, access controls, and governance using Unity Catalog and Microsoft Entra ID.\nTroubleshoot complex distributed computing and cloud platform issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.\nCollaborate with Data Engineering and Infrastructure teams to support platform requirements and ensure reliable data processing environments.\nIndependently evaluate infrastructure needs, make technical decisions, and drive continuous improvements in platform operations.\nOptimize cloud resource utilization, infrastructure performance, and operational efficiency.\nWhat you can expect from us\nHere at Nexaminds, we're not your typical workplace.
