The ideal candidate combines strong engineering leadership with hands-on technical expertise in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, developer tooling, and AI-assisted development. This is a player-coach role, requiring active contribution to architecture, coding, technical decision-making, and platform delivery while driving team performance, roadmap execution, and developer experience improvements at scale.\nLocation: MEXICO\nQualifications weare looking for:\n6+ years of software engineering experience, including time working on platform, infrastructure, or technically complex backend systems\n2+ years of engineering management experience with direct reports and performance management responsibility\nExperience managing distributed or nearshore/offshore engineering teams\nDemonstrated ability to manage teams using agile methodologies, coaching teams and adapting practices rather than just following process\nGenuine technical depth in at least one area relevant to platform or infrastructure engineering, sufficient to engage credibly in architecture and design discussions\nStrong skills in agile delivery, people management, stakeholder communication, and data-driven team health assessment\nExperience with Azure cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps or similar project management tooling\nDemonstrated use or active adoption of AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar)\nNice to have:\nPlayer-coach profile, comfortable engaging directly with code or architecture alongside the team when needed\nExperience with identity systems, authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML, OIDC), or security- adjacent platform work\nExperience managing QA engineers or teams with embedded QA alongside development\nBackground in HCM, HR tech, or enterprise B2B SaaS\nCapacity planning and roadmap shaping experience with product management\nJob duties:\nTeam Management\nTrack sprint status, blockers, and performance, and flag risks early.\nLead ceremonies actively and address underperformance directly.\nReport team health and delivery risks with data and business impact.\nWork Management\nPartner with the PM on planning and priorities based on real capacity.\nRemove blockers and manage dependencies with DevOps, QA, and other teams.\nOwn sprint readouts with clear status, root causes, and mitigation plans.\nIndividual Management\nRun regular 1:1s focused on growth and skill gaps.\nManage underperformance with data and a structured process.\nHire, onboard, and deliver timely performance reviews.\nTechnical & Business Leadership\nEngage in architecture and design reviews with real technical depth.\nUnderstand your teams' systems well enough to spot technical risk.\nDrive meaningful adoption of AI-assisted and agentic coding tools.\nWhat you can expect from us\nHere at Nexaminds, we're not your typical workplace.
