We are a vertically integrated manufacturer and our products are made at facilities located in Quebec, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.\nAs a Jr. Applications Engineer, you will report directlyto the Engineering Technical Director. The NAM growth strategy requires increased and sustained Applications Engineering support to enable the Commercial team’s objectives.\nGETTING TO KNOW THE POSITION\nOne of the strategic orientations that Nexans pursues consists in capturing growth and differentiating its offer by escalading the value chain from the production of cables towards the provision of innovative cable systems and services and solutions to better address the current and future needs of our partners and customers.\nThe Jr. Applications Engineer provides Nexans personnel with technical product specifications, field applications and industry standards information and support.\n\nHOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT\nQuality:\nAssists customers and sales personnel with technical product and applications inquiries \nLeads resolution of field technical problems and customer product issues \nProduct management:\nContinuously renews product and process knowledge by supervising product installations for residential, commercial, industrial and utility applications \nMonitors and feeds back latest technology developments through the use of field reports\nMaintains product portfolio, product drivers and product evolution information and trends\nAssists product development teams\nMarketing technical support:\nLeads the technical side of marketing projects (solutions, services etc.) from design to market launching\nIndustry committee representative for Canadian and United States committees including but not limited to CSA, EEMAC, UL, etc.\nResponsible for technical content for marketing publications including but not limited to the web, catalogues, brochures and promotional material \nPerforms training seminars for customers on product details, attributes and applications utilizing state of the art processes including web seminars and video equipment\nAssists department with market research on competitors, products, processes, competing technologies, etc.\nYou will be expected to:\nProject management - 10%:Supervises projects related to product and packaging innovation, defined within the marketing team\nIdentifies and prioritizes potential new innovations\n\nTechnical sales - 50%:Supports launching and promotion of innovations\nLeads technical discussions with distributors / contractors / EPCs / installers etc.\nActive participation and influence in electrical associations, training centers and other \n\nProduct management - 40%:Answers ad-hoc requests on product designs and applications\nActs as internal point of contact for topics related to cable applications\n\nThe goal to grow Nexans products and services with close interaction with customers\nWHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE ?\nKEY COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS\nA minimum of 5 years electrical systems design or applications experience\nExcellent knowledge of Electrical systems through design or applications experience\nExcellent interpersonal skills and communication ability with customers, contractors and management\nExcellent Energy Cables product and standards knowledge\nPreferred P.Eng, University or College degree preferred\nMust be willing and able to travel throughout Canada and USA\n\nRequests for accommodation due to a disability (which may be visible or invisible, temporary or permanent) can be made at any stage of application and employment.
