Join us to electrify the future!\nWELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM\nYou will join our Technical Department within Power Transmission, which has responsibility for ensuring the successful execution of technical activities related to the design, specification, modelling, analysis and testing of cable systems.\nAs a Lead Engineer, you will lead engineering activities related to tenders, deliveries, customer support and complaints within STSC. You will work closely with Project Managers, Department Managers, tender teams, manufacturing plants and other operational and supporting functions across Nexans.\nThe role is based in Oslo, Norway, and offers a highly collaborative working environment with interaction across Nexans’ international organisation. You will report to the relevant Department Manager or, when applicable, to the assigned Project Manager.\nHOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT\nAs Lead Engineer, you will take technical ownership of engineering activities for deliveries and projects within your assigned product responsibility. You will ensure that engineering is delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality, specifications and contractual requirements.\nYour main responsibilities will include:\nLead and coordinate engineering activities for projects and deliveries.\n\nSupport tender teams with technical requirements, solutions and risk evaluations.\n\nEnsure engineering and Scope of Work (SOW) are delivered in accordance with contracts and internal guidelines.\n\nEnsure that engineering activities are carried out in accordance with the STEL Project Execution Model.\n\nCoordinate internal and external interfaces within your area of responsibility.\n\nFollow up engineering budgets, costs, progress and schedules.\n\nIdentify, evaluate and manage technical risks and opportunities.\n\nFacilitate engineering status meetings and report progress to the Department Manager or Project Manager.\n\nEnsure effective use of engineering resources throughout tenders, projects and deliveries.\n\nCollaborate closely with manufacturing plants, operational units, customers and other stakeholders.\n\nContribute to the development and improvement of engineering processes, systems and ways of working.\n\nSupport competence development, training and knowledge sharing across the Business Group.\n\nContribute to keeping Nexans technology and engineering practices aligned with industry standards and best practices.\n\nSuccess in this role means delivering professional engineering services that meet project and contract requirements, making effective use of resources, continuously improving processes and contributing to high-quality technical solutions.\nYou boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and HSE.\nYOUR STARTING POINT\nWe know that the best candidates don’t always match every requirement listed, but here are some examples of the background and experience that can help you thrive in the role:\nBSc, MSc or equivalent university degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.\n\nExperience as a Project Engineer or in a similar engineering role.\n\nExperience working with multidisciplinary engineering activities and complex projects.\n\nGood general knowledge of project engineering systems, tools and processes.\n\nExperience coordinating or leading engineering activities is an advantage.\n\nAn interest in managing and leading highly competent technical teams and individuals.\n\nStrong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills.\n\nA proactive, determined and accountable approach, with the ability to take ownership and drive activities forward.\n\nCustomer and market focus, combined with a global mindset.\n\nFluent in English, both oral and written.\n\nYour personal values are aligned to those of Nexans: Pioneer, Dedicated, United.\n\nExperience from the cable industry, energy, offshore/onshore projects, manufacturing or other complex engineering environments is considered an advantage.\nOUR GROWTH CULTURE\nAmong our employees we share the same values - we are pioneers of the energy transition, dedicated to delivering to the highest standards of performance, united to achieve our ambitious goal.\nAt the individual level, our growth culture is built on trust and collaboration.
