This role ensures that core financial processes, including purchasing, accounts payable, customer invoicing, collections, cash management, bank reconciliations, and payroll, are completed accurately and on schedule. Partnering closely with the VP of Finance, the Assistant Accounting Manager owns the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations, P&L variance review, and final reporting to the Executive team. The role also supports the annual audit, maintains fixed asset and amortization schedules, oversees fleet compliance, and provides ad-hoc reporting to support business decisions.\nResponsibilities\nOversee accounting staff including 2x AR Coordinators, 1 AP Coordinator, 1 Fleet Manager/AP Coordinator\nResponsible for ensuring the following functions are completed timely and accurately by team members:\nPurchase Orders are being reviewed and received in accounting software daily with accurate cost coding and values\nAccounts Payable processed weekly with accurate accounting coding\nRelevant vendor documentation is processed and stored centrally\nCustomer invoicing processed daily\nAccounts Receivable balances are monitored weekly by relevant stakeholders\nCash collections and disbursements are tracked daily\nBank reconciliations are completed daily\nVehicles are being maintained timely with up-to-date registrations and inspections\nEnsure payroll is processed timely and accurately with relevant reconciliations completed\nResponsible for timely and accurate month end close process with support from VP Finance\nBalance Sheet reconciliations are completed monthly\nP&L fluctuations are monitored and documented\nFinal reporting to be issued to Executive team\nSupport VP Finance in annual audit documentation gathering\nMaintain fixed asset depreciation schedules, various amortization schedules\nPrepare other ad-hoc reporting as needed\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field\n5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle AP, AR, and month-end close \n2+ years of experience supervising or leading accounting staff\nHands-on experience with balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and P&L variance analysis\nWorking knowledge of GAAP\nExperience maintaining fixed asset, depreciation, and amortization schedules\nExperience supporting payroll processing and payroll reconciliations\nExperience with cloud-based ERP system, and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reconciliations)\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines\nClear communicator who can work with executives, vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders\nExperience supporting annual external audits\nPreferred experience in a construction, engineering, or field services environment, including job/cost coding on purchase orders\nFamiliarity with fleet management, including vehicle registrations, inspections, and maintenance tracking\nExperience improving or documenting accounting processes and internal controls\n Preferred: CPA or progress towards CPA Lic.\n\nBenefits\nCompetitive pay \n401(k) with 6% match after 1 year\nComprehensive health insurance (including EAP Programs) \nComprehensive Dental insurance\nPaid Life AD&D insurance\nPaid sick time\nPaid time off\n10 paid holidays\nTuition reimbursement program\nPaid training\nEmployee referral program\nProfessional development assistance\nCompany-provided uniforms\nCompany-sponsored events\n\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement\n\nAccutemp Engineering, LLC provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type, without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal or local laws.
