Our customers include AI-native companies, research teams and enterprises running complex, large-scale models.\nHyperstack powers everything from on-demand GPU compute to private cloud environments - built for speed, control and reliability.\nWe’re a scale-up by design - solving complex infrastructure challenges at pace, with real-world impact.\nThe Role\nThis role exists because our platform is scaling quickly - and complexity comes with it.\nAs we expand our OpenStack and Kubernetes environments globally, we need engineers who can take real ownership of how the platform is designed, operated and improved.\nThis is not a maintenance role.\nYou’ll be working on business-critical infrastructure that directly impacts performance, reliability and customer experience.\nIf you like solving hard problems, owning systems end-to-end, and seeing the impact of your work immediately - you’ll enjoy this.\nKey Responsibilities\nPlatform Ownership\nOwn the design, deployment and operation of OpenStack and Kubernetes environments\nEnsure platform performance, scalability and resilience for GPU workloads\nInfrastructure & Automation\nBuild and improve infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices\nDrive automation across provisioning, deployment and operational workflows\nPerformance & Reliability\nOptimise GPU workload scheduling using Kubernetes and NVIDIA tooling\nImplement monitoring, logging and alerting to ensure platform stability\nLead incident response and continuous improvement of reliability\nSecurity & Architecture\nMaintain strong security controls across infrastructure and container layers\nImplement RBAC, network policies and tenant isolation\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Platform, DevOps, AI, Product and Support teams\nAlign infrastructure capabilities with customer and platform requirements\nWhat We’re Looking For\nCore Experience\nStrong hands-on experience running OpenStack in production environments\nProven experience operating Kubernetes at scale (ideally bare-metal or private cloud)\nSolid understanding of Linux, networking and storage systems\nExperience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD and Git-based workflows\nCapabilities\nAbility to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and performance issues\nStrong ownership mindset - comfortable operating without heavy oversight\nAbility to simplify and scale systems in a fast-moving environment\nNice to Have (Not Essential)\nExperience integrating Kubernetes with OpenStack\nExposure to GPU infrastructure, HPC or large-scale compute environments\nFamiliarity with advanced networking or cloud-native ecosystems\nContributions to open-source projects\nWhat You’ll Get\nCompetitive salary + discretionary bonus\n25 days holiday + public holidays\nFully remote working (Australia-based)\nHigh ownership and autonomy\nThe chance to work on genuinely complex, high-performance infrastructure\nClear progression as the business scales\nWhy NexGen Cloud\nWe’re not running standard cloud infrastructure.\nWe’re solving for performance, scale and efficiency in AI workloads - where the margin for error is small and the technical bar is high.\nThis is a role where:\nYour work directly impacts customers\nYou’ll own real systems, not just tickets\nAnd you’ll be trusted to make decisions, not wait for them\nApply\nWe welcome applications from all backgrounds.
