The incumbent will maintain accurate geological records, assist with geological interpretations, assist with planning of drill targets, deliver timely and accurate reporting of geological results, and complete fieldwork during site rotations. The Junior Geologist works as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a strong focus on health, safety, environmental stewardship, and respectful engagement with colleagues, contractors, and Indigenous partners.\nLocation\nThis position will be based in the Saskatoon office along with a regular rotation to the Project site during drilling campaigns.\nKey Responsibilities\nLog drill core to NexGen processes and standards including collection and labeling of samples and applying QA/QC protocols to ensure data quality integrity.\nOrganize and interpret geological data, develop geological consistent cross-sections, plan maps, and 3D models using approved software.\nAssist in planning drillhole locations and support day-to-day drill program execution as directed by your supervisor.\nEnsure core logging and sampling are conducted to high standards while meeting NexGen’s standards for health, safety, environment, and community.\nFollow NexGen HSE policies and procedures which include participation in safety meetings, field hazard assessments, and incident reporting. \nSupport implementation of exploration HSE plans and standards in collaboration with HSE and site leadership.\nMaintain accurate geological data through the consistent review of drillhole logs and sample information; support data validation and QA/QC checks for all geological information; work with senior staff to resolve data issues promptly.\nPrepare and contribute departmental reports as required.\nWork closely with core logging personnel to ensure geological features are understood and logging procedures are followed based on the geological characteristics.\nCoordinate day-to-day field communications and task alignment under the direction of the senior NexGen leadership.\nSeek feedback and coaching to build technical and field skills.\nIdentify opportunities to streamline logging, sampling, and reporting workflows; adopt new tools and techniques that improve exploration effectiveness.\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nBachelor’s degree in Geology or closely related geoscience discipline is required.\nExperience in uranium or hard-rock mineral exploration preferred.\nWorking knowledge of geological software and databases (e.g., Micormine, ioGAS, TSG, and acQuire) with a willingness to build deeper proficiency.\nHands-on experience with 3D geological modelling and data visualization tools (Leapfrog or equivalent) is an asset.\nProficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).\nComfortable working field rotations to remote sites in support of drill programs, including extended periods in camp environments.\nValid Class 5 driver’s licence and acceptable driving record.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and with a broad range of people.\nDemonstrated commitment to workplace safety and willingness to model safe behaviours.\nExperience working respectfully with Indigenous communities and northern/remote stakeholders.\nSatisfactory completion of a Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Test as required for the Rook I project.\nCore Competencies\n
