The Project Manager requires extensive experience with large scale construction execution including project initiation, team development, contractor management, project execution and risk management. This position reports to the Area Manager.\nLocation\n This position can be either based out of Saskatoon (preferred) or remote with with travel to Saskatoon and Rook 1 site as required. This is a contract role on a Monday-Friday schedule.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPosition Responsibilities\n\n Establish effective structure and interfaces between Owner and Contractor teams including communication strategies between all levels.\nEnsure safe on budget, on schedule execution aligned with applicable standards, codes, and regulatory body requirements.\nEnsure clear definition and ownership of the project scope, schedule, budget, and project outcomes.\nAccountable for the development and inclusion of the shaft sinking project execution plan.\nMaintain clear change management and contract management processes and procedures and complete all change orders in a timely manner.\nLeverage project control systems to measure project performance and identify deviations early with mitigations to correct and realign to plan.\nEstablish an internal communications plan to keep the Project Team, Project Management and Senior Leadership informed of the project at all stages.\nEnsure Contractor execution is inline with project QA/QC requirements and all inspection and test plans are complete for execution.\nResponsible to manage all requests for information and nonconformance reports for the shaft area. \nAccountable to work with the Contractor to complete the shaft sinkers engineering and procurement inline with their project execution plan and project schedule incorporating constructability and operability into their designs.\nComplete with the Contractor all risk work, safe operating procedures, and execution planning for site mobilization.\nEnsure progressive turnover of completed packages from the Contractor.\nDevelop Owners team members and ensure continuity of the project team.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mining, Mechanical) or equivalent construction management experience.\n15 to 20 years with experience as Project Manager or Project Director on at a mine or heavy industrial construction site.\nExceptional people skills with the ability to work and communicate with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization.\nHigh attention to detail, clear organizational skills and the ability to safely progress this scope of work.\nAptitude for fast paced challenging projects safely executed with professionalism and
