This person will play a crucial role in building and developing our newly initiated Microsoft Fabric-based data platform, integrating data from SAP and various external sources.\nThe ideal candidate will combine hands-on data engineering expertise with the curiosity and capability to drive technical architecture discussions, translating business requirements into tangible solutions. Initially, this role will balance technical implementation (data engineering) and architecture tasks, with additional opportunities for leadership and product ownership as the platform matures.\nAbout Your Future Role\nIn this position, you will:\nOwn day-to-day platform operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution across Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake Storage, and source system integrations.\nDevelop, maintain, and expand our Microsoft Fabric data platform, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.\nDesign and maintain scalable data models, semantic models, and lakehouse structures that support reporting, analytics, and self-service consumption.\nImplement robust data ingestion pipelines, primarily using PySpark, from SAP and various external sources (e.g., handheld operational scanners, 3rd-party distributors).\nCollaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand and translate use cases into clear, actionable technical requirements.\nSuggest and justify enhancements to platform architecture, adhering to existing guardrails while continuously seeking improvement opportunities.\nMaintain an efficient balance between new feature development and ongoing platform maintenance.\nAct as a bridge between technical solutions and business teams, proactively communicating and facilitating data-driven decision-making across the organization.\nWhat a Typical Day Looks Like:\nDeveloping and maintaining Microsoft Fabric pipelines, notebooks, and Lakehouse solutions.\nBuilding and optimizing PySpark and SQL-based data ingestion and transformation processes.\nMonitoring platform performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring reliable data delivery.\nWorking closely with Supply Chain stakeholders to translate business requirements into data solutions.\nImproving platform architecture, data models, and data quality across the data platform.\nBalancing new development, platform maintenance, and operational support.\nMaintaining documentation and sharing knowledge to ensure platform continuity.\nWhat We Value in You\nWe’re looking for someone eager to make a difference. Here’s what we value:\nHard Skills:\nStrong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Engineering, Pipelines, Semantic Models, and Capacity Management.\nProficiency in SQL and experience building and maintaining complex data pipelines.\nPractical experience with Python, especially PySpark for data ingestion and transformation.\nWorking knowledge of Azure services including Data Lake Storage Gen2, Key Vault, networking concepts, and identity/access management.
