Working with subject matter experts, communications and editorial teams, designers, and government stakeholders, this role combines strong writing and editing, content management, user experience, accessibility, quality assurance, and digital publishing skills to ensure complex technical information is accurate, accessible, easy to find, and engaging for diverse audiences.\nThis position is contingent upon Nexight Group receiving an anticipated federal contract award. To learn more about the company, please visit our careers page.\nApplicants should have the necessary skills to perform the following job responsibilities:\nDevelop, write, edit, update, and publish web and intranet content, translating complex technical and research information into clear, accurate, accessible, audience-centered digital communications.\nManage content throughout its lifecycle, coordinating intake, development, technical and communications review, approval, publishing, updates, and archiving.\nUse content management systems to upload, maintain, format, and publish approved content, including text, images, alternative text, links, downloadable resources, and related digital assets.\nCoordinate with content owners, subject matter experts, communications and editorial staff, designers, and government stakeholders to gather information, manage reviews, resolve issues, and ensure timely publication.\nConduct quality assurance of web content and data, verifying accuracy, readability, formatting, links, accessibility, branding, metadata, and consistency with applicable editorial and governance standards.\nApply plain language, content organization, search optimization, and user centered design principles to improve content discoverability, usability, and engagement.\nEvaluate website content and information architecture to identify opportunities to eliminate redundancies, modernize content, improve navigation and findability, and strengthen the user experience.\nUse performance analytics, search behavior, content metrics, and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and recommend content and user-experience enhancements.\nSupport recurring content reviews and certification processes to help ensure digital information remains accurate, current, and compliant.\nDevelop user guides, training materials, presentations, and other resources; document and improve content-management processes and procedures; and deliver training and support to staff on content-management and publishing processes.\nSupport digital information resources and databases through content review, editing, organization, sorting, filtering, data quality control, and publishing, as applicable.\nUse graphic-editing tools as needed to prepare, crop, resize, recolor, and optimize images and visual assets for web use.\nThis is a hybrid position. Candidates should be within reasonable commuting distance of the Washington, DC, metropolitan area and available for meetings and other activities at client locations in McLean, VA, and Washington, DC, as required.\nSummary of Qualifications\nRequired Education and Experience\nBachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.\n5-7 years of professional experience in web content management, including at least 3 years within the past 5 years.\nDemonstrated experience writing, editing, maintaining, and publishing web content using a content management system.\nExperience managing content through review, approval, publishing, maintenance, and archival workflows.\nExperience applying Section 508 accessibility requirements to web and digital content.\nExperience conducting content quality assurance, including review of accuracy, links, formatting, metadata, and digital assets.\nExperience applying plain-language, content-organization, search optimization, and user-experience principles to digital content.\nExperience using performance data, analytics, or user feedback to evaluate and improve web content.\nExperience creating training or guidance materials and delivering training or user support to content contributors, staff, or CMS users.\nExperience using graphic-editing tools to prepare and optimize images for web use.\nProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other digital collaboration/content-development tools.\nAbility to successfully complete required federal personnel security/background investigation and obtain required facility and system access.\nRequired Demonstrated Ability and Skill\nStrong writing, editing, and digital-content judgment, with the ability to organize complex information for clear and intuitive online consumption.\nAbility to think from the user's perspective, identifying opportunities to improve content organization, navigation, findability, readability, and usability.\nExceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate, current, accessible, and high-quality digital information.\nAbility to build productive working relationships and communicate professionally with clients, subject matter experts, content owners, editors, designers, technical staff, and colleagues.\nStrong organizational and project-coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple content requests, reviews, updates, and deadlines simultaneously.\nSound judgment and strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify content or usability issues, determine appropriate solutions, and recognize when questions require client or technical input.\nCuriosity, critical thinking, adaptability, and initiative, including the ability to quickly become conversant in unfamiliar technical topics, solve problems proactively, and identify opportunities to improve content, user experience, and client outcomes.\nAbility to take ownership of work independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented consulting environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nDrupal experience, preferably Drupal 10.\nFederal government web content, digital communications, or publishing experience.\nTransportation, highway/surface transportation, infrastructure, research, or related technical-sector experience.\nExperience working with large, complex websites or portfolios of web content.\nExperience with SharePoint or other enterprise content/collaboration platforms.\nFamiliarity with graphic-editing applications and basic HTML/CSS.\nAdvanced Section 508/web accessibility experience.\nAll full-time employees of Nexight Group receive a competitive salary and attractive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid parental leave; company contributions to employee health savings accounts (HSAs); company 401(k) contributions; profit sharing; and an annual bonus program.\nTo Apply\nPlease submit the following information:\nResume\nA cover letter that articulates your qualifications and motivation for the position and provides examples of your experience managing web content, improving user experience or content findability, working within CMS environments, and collaborating with technical subject matter experts or content owners.\nExamples of one or two websites, web-content initiatives, or digital resources you substantially supported, with a brief description of your role and contributions.
