The selected candidate will do on-air weather forecast segments primarily for our weekend newscasts. They will also fill in as needed for other newscasts throughout the week. They will also create content for our digital platforms, including WETM+, our Smart TV streaming app. The weekend Meteorologist/Content Creator will report, shoot, write and edit weather/news reports across multiple platforms.\nProduce and present weather/news reports for all platforms.\nEnsures that all weather/news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.\nWrites and delivers weather / news stories in a clear and concise manner.\nAssists in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating weather programming and other content.\nResponds to breaking and/or severe weather events and other urgent newsroom situations as required.\nWorks closely with the weather team to develop comprehensive weather coverage.\nParticipates in promotional activities including public appearances.\nWrites web stories detailing the local forecast on a daily basis.\nInteracts with viewers and users on social media sites.\nThe MMVJ part of the job includes reporting three days a week.\nAbility to shoot pictures and edit stories from beginning to end.\nWinning candidate will be posting on the web and social media.\nCompensation Range: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour\nRequirements & Skills:\nBachelor's degree in Meteorology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.\nEntry level to 2 years’ experience in weather presentation and reporting preferred.\nMust be able to shoot video and perform non-linear editing. Ability to write story from beginning to end.
