You will also help optimize protocols and develop new methods.\nKey Responsibilities\nLong-Read Sequencing\nExtract nucleic acids from diverse sample types, including high molecular weight (HMW) DNA from tissue, cells, blood and difficult samples such as plants, invertebrates and microbial communities.\nPerform sample and library QC (Qubit, NanoDrop, Femto Pulse/TapeStation), DNA shearing and size selection.\nPrepare libraries for PacBio (HiFi, Kinnex, Iso-Seq) and Oxford Nanopore (ligation, barcoding/multiplexing) workflows.\nSet up, load and monitor runs on PacBio Revio and ONT PromethION. Record run metrics and flag issues early.\nSpatial Genomics\nAssist with tissue preparation, FFPE and fresh frozen sectioning, staining (H&E, IF) and imaging for GeoMx DSP, CosMx SMI, Xenium and Visium HD.\nPerform RNA quality assessment (e.g., DV200, RIN) and prepare slides to platform specifications.\nSupport instrument setup and run operation under supervision.\nMethod Development and Troubleshooting\nHelp optimize protocols for challenging samples (low input, degraded, high contaminant) and evaluate new kits, reagents and workflows.\nTroubleshoot failed or low-yield runs with the senior team, and document root causes and fixes.\nWrite and update SOPs.\nSample and Data Management\nTrack samples, metadata and project documentation across long-read and spatial workflows.\nAssist with sample, library, run and imaging QC, and organize raw data for transfer.\nSupport data handover to bioinformatics and external collaborators, including data transfer and basic integrity checks.\nCoordination and Documentation\nCoordinate project timelines and sample logistics with internal teams, customers and collaborators.\nMaintain accurate lab records and contribute QC summaries and methods sections to project reports.\nSupport collaborative initiatives such as the SpACE-Dx project with A*STAR GIS.\nInventory and Laboratory Maintenance\nMaintain inventory of reagents, kits and consumables (including SMRT Cells, flow cells and spatial slides), monitor stock levels and coordinate ordering with vendors and finance.\nKeep reagent labeling, documentation and tracking accurate.\nCoordinate equipment maintenance, calibration and service scheduling, and keep the lab organized and run-ready.\nFollow established SOPs, safety procedures and quality standards.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related fields.\n1–2 years of relevant laboratory experience (academic or industry).\nHands-on experience with nucleic acid extraction, QC and NGS library preparation.\nExperience with PacBio or ONT workflows, HMW DNA handling, histology or spatial platforms is a strong advantage.\nFamiliarity with the Linux command line, Python or R, or basic sequencing data QC is a plus.\nStrong attention to detail, careful technique and good documentation habits.\nCurious and methodical when troubleshooting.\nProactive, dependable and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines.\nAble to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research and service
