The successful candidate shall be a specialist project engineer, with a background in Mechanical Engineering (vessels, piping, valves) and a good basic knowledge of other engineering disciplines (Process, Process Safety, Rotating Equipment, Electrical, Instrument and Control System, Telecom, Civil & Structural, HVAC, Welding and Materials).\nThe incumbent will report to the Sr. Manager, Brownfield Projects, under the leadership of the Sr Director Engineering and the Sr. Vice President of Operations. \nThe role has no direct reports.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nFor the Projects under their responsibility, the Engineer, Brownfield Projects Mechanical shall ensure that FEED and/or EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning) activities by Contractors, Sub-Contractors and Vendors, are executed safely, on schedule, on budget and in line with the applicable technical requirements.\nKEY ACTIVITIES TO BE COORDINATED\nThe Sr Engineer, Brownfield Projects Mechanical shall coordinate the following activities, typically for mechanical and rotating equipment focused projects, among the different parties involved (Contractors, Sub-Contractors, Vendors, NEXTDECADE stakeholders):\nPreparation of BODs and FEED technical Work Packages\nPreparation of EPC Tenders (technical part) and analysis of technical proposals\nParticipation in technical clarifications with Contractors and Vendors\nIssue on time of NEXTDECADE SMEs comments to Contractors and Vendors deliverables\nParticipation of NEXTDECADE SMEs to specific reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, QRAs, etc…), and follow-up of actions closure\nHSE orientation training of Contractors and Vendors personnel working on the plant site\nSite surveys preparation and execution\nDevelopment and monitoring of KPIs (HSE, schedule, budget, quality, compliance)\nDevelopment and monitoring of recovery plan(s) as required\nProcessing and closure of TDRs (Technical Deviation Requests) and NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports)\nInspections and FATs at Vendors premises and SATs on the plant site\nProper implementation by Contractors and Vendors of NEXTDECADE SIMOPS procedures & PTW system requirements\nWalkdowns and witnessing by NEXTDECADE personnel of mechanical completion and commissioning key activities\nCompliance with NEXTDECADE MOC process\nHandover of new facilities/equipment from Contractors to NEXTDECADE\nIssue of Project close-out report including lessons learnt\nPreparation of warranty claims (if any)\nEDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & COMPETENCIES\nBasic Requirements:\nB.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).\n5+ years as Brownfield Projects Engineer in the oil and gas industry (including exposure to SIMOPS and Turn Arounds)\nA Professional Engineering License or eligibility for registration.\nPreferred Requirements:\nExperience\n15+ years in the oil and gas industry\n10+ years as a Project Engineer in the oil and gas industry (Green and/or Brownfield)\n5+ years in Project or Operations in the LNG or refinery industries\nAdvanced skills in the following:\nProject management\nPlanning for brownfield project delivery\nIntermediate skills in the following:\nProject Completion Systems (Win PCS, Smart Completion, etc…)\n3D model software (Smart Plant & Navisworks)\nContractor management\nStakeholder management\nBudgeting, estimating and cost control for projects\nManaging SIMOPs\nQuality requirements in projects\nEngineering information management for projects\nBasic skills in the following:\nPermit to Work systems\nOperational Management of Change\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted and push/pull with up to 50 pounds of force.\nRequired to grip objects with up to 50 pounds of force.\nFrequent standing, walking, balancing, climbing stairs and ladders.\nRegular reaching, bending, stooping, handling and spinal twisting.\nUse of hands, arms and legs to lift. Ability to push and pull machinery and other mechanical components.\nSite Working Conditions & Physical Expectations\nWork Environment\nMust be able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.\nOperates in a complex construction environment.\nExposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.\nNot necessarily protected from weather and temperature changes.
