SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

The Sr. Scheduler, Maintenance is responsible for developing and coordinating maintenance schedules to ensure the efficient execution of preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities in an LNG facility. This role involves collaborating with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to optimize resource allocation, minimize downtime, and maintain compliance with safety and reliability standards. The Scheduler plays a key role in maintaining asset integrity and operational efficiency. This position is located at the RGLNG site in Brownsville, TX.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance Scheduling & Coordination

  • Develop and manage detailed maintenance schedules for routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with operations, reliability, and engineering teams to minimize disruptions to LNG production.
  • Ensure work orders are prioritized based on safety, criticality, and operational impact.
  • Monitor schedule adherence and adjust plans to accommodate changes in operational conditions.

Workforce & Resource Optimization

  • Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment availability to optimize maintenance execution.
  • Ensure proper allocation of technicians and contractors based on workload and priority.
  • Monitor and track work progress, identifying potential bottlenecks and delays.

Compliance & Safety Standards

  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with LNG industry safety regulations, OSHA, API, and company policies.
  • Support risk assessments, permit-to-work processes, and job hazard analyses (JHA).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance schedules and work history.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Generate reports on maintenance performance, schedule compliance, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyze maintenance trends and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in optimizing the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS such as SAP 4 HANA, Prometheus or similar platforms).

EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & COMPETENCIES

Basic Requirements:

  • Journeyman or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Controls, Project Management, Maintenance Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in maintenance within LNG, oil & gas, or petrochemical industries.
  • Proficiency in CMMS software (SAP, Prometheus, MS Project, P6) for scheduling and work order management.
  • Strong knowledge of LNG plant maintenance processes, reliability practices, and equipment types.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Eligible to be issued Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) are required.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Concur and Workday
  • Additional training specifically in computer/software and/or prior demonstratable work experience.

Other Duties:

Shutdown & Turnaround Planning

  • Assist in planning and scheduling major maintenance shutdowns and turnarounds.
  • Ensure all shutdown activities are properly sequenced, resourced, and aligned with operational needs.
  • Work with procurement and logistics teams to ensure the availability of spare parts and equipment.

Site Working Conditions & Physical Expectations

Work Environment

  • Must be able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
  • Operates in a complex construction environment.
  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Not necessarily protected from weather and temperature changes. Possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical circuits.
  • Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distraction.
  • Routinely uses standard office and field communications equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and radios.

Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Ability to drive to other Company work locations as required.
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, including being physically capable of traveling to a designed muster point during emergency situations.
  • Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift.
  • The incumbent is required to have fully mechanical motion and usage of all extremities.
  • Physically able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and lift items weighing up to 20 lbs. without assistance.
  • Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate with others via radio, phone, and verbal methods.
  • May be required to enter confined spaces.
  • May be required to work at elevated heights and access elevated structures without assistance.
