You will work in multi-disciplinary teams to meet product and project requirements; collaborating with engineers from a variety of companies and industries. You will also have the ability to mentor junior engineers.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, develop and maintain software solutions using programming / scripting languages such as C, C++, C#, and Python\nAssist in creating and maintaining product documentation (requirements, specification, design, development, integration, test procedures and results)\nParticipate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and other artifacts\nContribute to system risk analysis and FMEA activities\nHelp break down project schedule and plan activities throughout the development\nAble to act as the software product owner on smaller projects and can be a technical subject matter expert and take ownership of components on larger, more complicated systems\nActively contribute to software process improvement activities and can help drive new process improvements within the organization\nImplement source code meeting product requirements in compliance with coding standards\nPlan, develop, and execute integration and unit tests to ensure and maintain source code quality\nConsult for verification test activities\nProvide timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues\nCoordinate configuration and release of embedded software and firmware\nProvide technical mentorship to software engineers including, but not limited to, software architectural design decisions, code review and approvals, software verification planning\nRequirements\nRequired:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science / Engineering\n5-10 years related work experience\nProficient in C++ and/or C programming in embedded environments\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nKnowledge of software design, development, debug and test practices in a regulated environment\nEmbedded software design, implementation, and test experience\nUnderstanding of multitasking and device driver complexities\nSoftware architecture and design experience\nPreferred:\nKnowledge of and experience with IEC 62304 and medical software lifecycle development\nExperience with Qt or other GUI toolkits\nExperience with wireless communication protocols\nExperience with C#, Python for tool development, automation, and manufacturing processes\nUnit and module level software testing experience\nSalary Range: $120,000 to $165,000 based on skills and experience\nBenefits\nHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)\nRetirement Plan with Company Match\nPaid Time Off, Personal Days, AND Birthday Holiday!\nLifetime Membership Subsidy and Wellness Resources\nLife Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)\nFamily Leave (Maternity, Paternity)\nShort-Term & Long-Term Disability\nTaco Thursdays!!!\nNextern is an equal opportunity employer.
