This role involves research and development to evaluate, modify, and sustain platforms and systems, ensuring compliance with operational requirements and industry regulatory standards.\nDuties include but are not limited to:\nProvide engineering expertise for the detailed design, analysis, and development of structural and avionics modifications, ensuring adherence to design standards and applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or other airworthiness criteria.\nSupport structural and avionics proof tests, including the design and coordination of test flight performance envelopes, profiles, and special maneuvers to verify structural performance.\nDetermine necessary modifications to upgrade existing equipment to required standards.\nAssist with contracting activities, including technical specification writing, Statement of Work (SOW) preparation, and contractor performance monitoring.\nPerform and direct feasibility studies for aircraft modifications.\nProvide technical input for evaluating contract proposals.\nSupport the development and adjudication of acquisition and requirements documentation.\nServe as an aerospace engineering consultant to system managers.\nProvide technical and engineering support for the repair, modification, and sustainability of aircraft, avionics systems, and specialized mission equipment.\nUtilize FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) to perform required aircraft and systems inspections.\nAbility to support aircraft and mission systems test flights.\nRequired Education, Experience and Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in professional engineering (aerospace, mechanical, systems, and electrical, industrial, or material science), or closely related discipline.\no Applicable engineering experience required in lieu of degree.
