You’ll focus on one of the most important parts of the engineering experience: getting code from commit to production quickly, reliably, and safely.\nYou’ll work closely with engineering teams to improve pipelines, reduce developer friction, strengthen deployment practices, and create reusable tooling that makes the right way to ship software the easy way.\nNextiva’s platform is built on a modern microservices architecture, and reliability and adaptability are central to how we serve customers. Our broader platform strategy also leverages AI and automation to create better outcomes, making this role important to how our engineering organization continues to scale and evolve.\nWhat you’ll do\nDesign, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines as code across multiple services and engineering teams.\nImprove deployment safety through progressive delivery strategies including canary, blue/green, and feature-flag-based releases.\nBuild reusable pipeline templates, shared libraries, and self-service tooling that make it easier for teams to onboard and ship consistently.\nImprove build performance through caching, parallelization, and other approaches that reduce pipeline execution and feedback time.\nPartner with engineering teams to identify and remove friction from local development, testing, CI, and deployment workflows.\nIntegrate appropriate AI-assisted capabilities into developer workflows, including use cases such as pipeline diagnostics, test generation or selection, code-review automation, and failure triage.\nImplement software supply-chain practices including dependency scanning, artifact signing, and SBOM generation.\nUse Infrastructure-as-Code to provision and maintain the infrastructure supporting CI/CD.\nMonitor pipeline health and deployment success and use those signals to drive continuous improvements.\nHelp engineering teams adopt effective DevOps and delivery practices through clear communication, enablement, and reusable solutions.\nWhat you bring\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.\n5+ years of DevOps or software engineering experience, with a strong focus on CI/CD and developer tooling.\nStrong hands-on experience with modern CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Buildkite.\nExperience designing pipelines as code and reusable pipeline templates.\nSolid understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and deploying containerized applications through CI/CD.\nWorking knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code, including Terraform and/or Ansible.\nStrong Linux administration and scripting skills using Bash, Python, or Go.\nExperience with middleware or messaging technologies such as Kafka, Redis, or RabbitMQ.\nExperience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK.\nStrong communication skills and experience driving adoption of tooling across engineering teams.\nProgressive delivery tooling such as Argo Rollouts, Flagger, or feature-flag platforms.\nAdditional experience that will help you succeed\nSoftware supply-chain security tooling such as Nexus, Sigstore/cosign, Syft/SBOM tooling, Snyk, or Trivy.\nExperience applying AI/LLM-based tools to engineering workflows.\nAI literacy\nWe’re looking for someone who understands where AI can genuinely improve engineering workflows rather than applying it for its own sake.\nExperience using AI/LLM-assisted tooling to accelerate development, testing, troubleshooting, code review, or CI/CD workflows.\nAbility to evaluate AI-generated recommendations or outputs critically before incorporating them into production engineering processes.\nCuriosity about opportunities such as intelligent test selection, flaky-test detection, automated checks, and pipeline failure diagnostics.\nNextiva DNA (Core Competencies)\nNextiva’s most successful team members share common traits and behaviors:\nDrives Results: Action-oriented problem solvers who quickly bring clarity and simplicity to ambiguity, challenge the status quo, and lead meaningful change; celebrating wins to fuel momentum.
