The Construction Manager has the ultimate responsibility for the project budget, meeting project timelines, customer expectations, managing construction project teams made up of in-house engineering and construction teams as well as subcontractors. The Construction Manager will typically have a geographical region, when applicable, where they manage the various OSP fiber construction projects within their region.Essential Functions:\nReasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nResponsible for management of underground and aerial construction personnel\nCoordinate with OSP Planning to prepare preliminary cost estimates and route proposals including descriptions of the proposed project and a map showing the preliminary route that is the basis for the estimate.\nWork closely with Senior Leadership and other Staff to plan, schedule, update, and identify operational problems or obstacles.\nEnsure proper resources are assigned and workload of resources.\nAccurately and effectively prepare written correspondence to project team.\nAttend construction meetings when requested\nRead and interpret construction documents, i.e.; prints and plans as well as splicing diagrams that are used in the splicing of fiber optics.\nReview preliminary construction prints from Right of Way authorities and determine potential conflicts; attend utility coordination meetings and construction progress meetings as needed.\nAssist leadership in identifying and removing potential project roadblocks.\nEstablish positive relationships with team members, partners, and municipalities\nEstablish positive management and employee relationships.\nManage personnel issues, recommend promotions, and recommend needs for new positions.\nEnsure all employees have a safe working environment.\nWork closely with Engineering to ensure continuous feedback on the OSP design and any changes made to the design\nComfortable recommending design changes to increase build efficiency\nMeet project goals, production, and other management reports.\nArrange for training as needed for employees.\nOther duties as determined necessary.\nEducation and Experience:\nMinimum 5 years managing OSP construction projects\nFTTH construction leadership experience preferred\nKnowledge of common FTTH PON Design and engineering practices\nProject Management Experience on FTTH projects highly preferred\nStrong with Excel, Google Earth, and various Project Mgmt. databases\nExperience performing site walks, cost estimating, site layout planning\nTeam Oriented mindset\nJob Classification:\nConstruction\nNon-Exempt\nWork Environment/Hazards:\nPrimarily remote\nHudson Oaks, TX main office\nWill cover various locations throughout Texas\nWorking Hours/Days:\nMonday thru Friday\nFull-time\nOvertime as needed\nTravel Requirements:\n20 - 40% of travel required\nAffirmative Action (AAP/EEO Statement):\nNextlink is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
