{"id":3134720,"url":"https://alion.io/job/nexus-ethiopia-project-coordinator","title":"PROJECT COORDINATOR","company":{"id":4463528,"name":"Nexus Ethiopia","domain":null,"url":"https://alion.io/company/nexus-ethiopia","size_band":null,"is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":null,"truth_index":null},"role":"Administrative","role_family":"Administrative","seniority":"senior","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Semera, Ethiopia"],"countries":["ET"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":8000,"max_usd":17000,"period":"year","method":null,"sample_n":15479},"experience_years_min":5,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-10T07:59:58Z","employer_posted_date":null,"last_verified_at":"2026-10-10T07:59:58Z","board_verified":false,"closed_at":null,"days_open":26,"trust":{"level":"not_scored","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":26},"description":"Nexus Ethiopia is a national Ethiopian Civil Society Organization committed to strengthening the resilience of vulnerable and crisis-affected communities through integrated Humanitarian–Development–Peace (HDP) Nexus programming, localization, partnership, and locally led humanitarian action.\n\nNexus Ethiopia, in partnership with other humanitarian actors, is implementing project entitled Integrated Lifesaving Humanitarian Response for Drought, Flood and Displacement-Affected Communities in Afambo and Amibara Woredas, Afar Region.\n\nPosition 3: PROJECT COORDINATOR\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nProvide overall coordination and oversight of project implementation across Afambo and Amibara woredas.\n\nEnsure effective integration and coordination of WaSH, MPC and other sector interventions implemented through sub-partners.\n\nDevelop and monitor detailed implementation plans, activity schedules and project deliverables.\n\nCoordinate closely with government authorities, humanitarian coordination structures, cluster/sector actors, donor and other relevant stakeholders.\n\nEnsure effective coordination between Nexus Ethiopia and sub-implementing partners.\n\nMonitor project progress against targets, indicators, budget and work plans.\n\nEnsure quality, accountability, protection mainstreaming, gender, inclusion and conflict sensitivity across project activities.\n\nRequired Qualifications and Experience\n\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Humanitarian Studies, Development Studies, Project Management, Social Sciences, Disaster Risk Management, Public Health, or a related field.\n\nMinimum 5 years of relevant experience, including significant experience in humanitarian project coordination.\n\nDemonstrated experience managing or coordinating multisectoral humanitarian projects.\n\nExperience working on project funded by UN agencies, EHF/OCHA, international NGOs, national NGOs and government counterparts is highly desirable.\n\nExperience managing sub-partners or consortium/multi-partner projects is an advantage.\n\nStrong knowledge of humanitarian principles, accountability, protection mainstreaming and the humanitarian programme cycle.\n\nStrong reporting, coordination, communication and leadership skills.\n\nExperience working in Afar or other pastoralist/remote humanitarian contexts is an advantage.\n\nFluency in English is required; knowledge of local language is highly desirable.\n\nContract Duration: One year, subject to project requirements and satisfactory\n\nDuty Station: Afar Region – Afambo/Amibara, with regular travel to Regional capital\n\nAPPLICATION LINK\nHow To Apply\n\n Interested and qualified applicants are invited to complete the application form using the above link and upload their CV and cover letter as instructed in the application form.
