Desktop application or game engine experience is highly preferable.\nStrong TypeScript and modern JavaScript in production.\nStrong system design instincts applied to client-side software: module boundaries, plugin architectures, data flow, persistence.\nExperience with packaging, code signing, auto-update, and cross-platform quirks (Windows and Linux).\nSolid Node.js fundamentals: async patterns, streaming I/O, child processes, native addons.\nExperience designing public APIs or SDKs for external developers: versioning, deprecation, backwards compatibility.\nExperience with desktop CI/CD, reproducible builds, and signed release pipelines.\nA track record of mentoring engineers and lifting the technical level of the teams you're on.\nBonus Skills\nExperience with Electron, Tauri or similar desktop application builders.\nStrong React experience, including state management at scale.\nExperience with client-side auth and download/distribution systems.\nBackground at high-scale desktop platforms or launchers (Steam, Epic, GOG Galaxy, Battle.net, or similar).\nExperience taking a Windows-first app cross-platform, or maintaining Windows/Linux parity in production.\nKnowledge of gaming file formats, save systems, load orders, or plugin architectures.\nExperience building tools for creators or user-generated content communities.\nFamiliarity with Bethesda's Creation Engine, FOMOD, Wabbajack, or similar modding standards.\nA genuine interest in gaming or modding culture.\nRequisitos\nShip high-impact work across the application's core process, UI layer, and extension layers.\nOwn the hardest bugs in the codebase: race conditions, performance regressions, gnarly state issues.\nDrive architecture decisions that span multiple teams, in partnership with engineering management.\nReview code and set technical standards through example, not just process.\nMentor engineers across levels in desktop application architecture, TypeScript, and the modding domain.\nSteward a public extension API used by an active third-party developer community.\nIdentify and pay down technical debt in a large, long-lived, actively used codebase.\nWork closely with Product, Design, QA, Community, and Backend to turn ambiguous problems into shipped features.\nImprove build, packaging, and release tooling for the whole team.\nBeneficios\nBenefits:We work a 4-day week of 32 hours, with no reduction in pay.\nAn allowance of £25 each month to spend on video games.\nEmployee Assistance Programme.\nPrivate BUPA healthcare for you and your family.\nA very flexible training budget.\nRegular social events throughout the year. Participation is optional!\nDiversity and Inclusion\nWe celebrate diversity and want you to bring your whole self to work.\nSupporting an incredible community of tens of millions of users, we thrive on engaging as many views as possible to improve our platform. We see no reason why our culture should be any different.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4920,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United Kingdom","iso":"GB","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-01T18:27:16Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":13,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.472,"p_room":0.28,"age_days":85,"expected_fill_days":27,"reasons":["conf:2","velocity","win:tail","crowd:"],"computed_at":"2026-10-09T06:01:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":119104,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/nexusmods-principal-software-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/nexusmods-principal-software-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-10T00:31:14Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":787,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":4213,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-11T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":1761578},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=1761578"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fnexusmods-principal-software-engineer"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fnexusmods-principal-software-engineer"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fnexusmods-principal-software-engineer"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/nexusmods-principal-software-engineer\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fnexusmods-principal-software-engineer"}]}
