Further information is available at www.nfi.parts.\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nThe Category Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, coaching and support of a team of buyers or coordinators executing category strategies, and managing supplier relationships to achieve cost, service, and quality objectives. Owns category performance and drives continuous improvement initiatives.\nWHAT YOU WILL DO:\nSupervise and coach a team of Buyers; manage performance, development, and workload distribution.\nTakes ownership of the long-term contract bidding process, actively pursues and negotiates with suppliers to secure competitive costs for the bid process.\nUnderstands strategic supply agreements and actively engages to manage and enhance existing agreements and works with category manager to execute new agreements that bring value to the organization.\nExecute category strategies as defined by the Category Manager; ensure alignment with cost, service, and quality objectives.\nLead procurement activities for assigned category including supplier performance, cost management, and tactical negotiations.\nAct as primary contact for suppliers within the category; build collaborative relationships and resolve escalations.\nTake an active role in limiting escalations due to supplier disruptions.\nMonitor and report on KPIs and supplier scorecards; drive performance improvements.\nSupport sourcing team in managing obsolescence and supply constraints; validate alternatives before handoff.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (Customer Service, Inventory Planning, Operations, Manufacturing) to ensure supply chain efficiency.\nConduct supplier site visits and participate in trade shows as needed.\nPresent quarterly category reviews and contribute to annual planning objectives.\nEnsure compliance with procurement policies and support continuous improvement initiatives.\nWork closely with supporting departments (Inventory Planning, Traffic & Customs, and Warehouse Operations) to ensure optimal service levels and Supply Chain performance\nRequirements\nWHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:\nPost-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain management or related field.\n3-5 years’ experience in supply chain, procurement, or strategic sourcing.\nSome leadership experience.\nStrong Leadership skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, self-motivated, strong organizational and analytic skills.\nProficient in Microsoft Office (Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word). \nKnowledge of Oracle is an asset.\n*Travel is required for this position*\nBenefits\nWHY JOIN OUR TEAM:\nCompetitive Wages. \nA continuous learning environment. \nAbility to advance your career with a growing company. \nNFI Group has been named a Manitoba Top Employer for 2020 and this is the tenth since the competition was established in 2007. \nEmployee social committee organizes numerous events throughout the year, including summer barbecues, holiday festivities, sporting events and tournaments, and much more. \nOngoing employee development through a variety of in-house training initiatives.\nHOW TO APPLY\nIf you would like to apply for this position or know someone who would, please submit a resume.\nOUR WHY:\nWe exist to move people.
